Love the Tea Paint color. Sassy Green could be an interesting choice with the right landscaping--I think I would prefer something a bit more green or a brightere chartreuse if I was going that direction. Anjou Pear (or something like that name) is a similar color in Benjamin Moore.

Maybe the greys/browns could be good for the garage? Prefer the geys with a touch of green or brown in them. Charcoal grey is OK, but plain grey is too battleship gray for me--no subtlety.

You can practically paint a door with a sample, Benjamin Moore samples cost about $7-8 (free shipping now too) and cover 16 square feet according to their website. A door is about 3' x 6' 8 ", so that is about 20 sq. feet. Drats. OK get two samples or a quart (a gallon is 60-70) and start with a light color and work your way to the darker colors if you don't like it.

Benjamin Moore has a paint visualizer which will do this for you without painting! Create masks (oulines) for the trim and the door and then experiment. A little tedious to get started, they have tutorials and loads of good paint prep advice, but worth it.

I wanted a turquoise door too, but my husband nixed the idea as well!! I would do a stainded door. : )

You could stain the door a charcoal brown, tho I do think a paint color would be more fun.

I think the green paint choice with a yellow undertone adjacent to the red/grey bricks just doesn't compliment the house. Plus, there is already a high contrast with the trim being very light in color.
Side note- I have used SW black fox for shutters- a great choice. I'm sure you will love it!

I might consider yellow! Obviously you like color if you initially thought touquoise or orange. Apparently, yellow is the up and coming color, it would brighten up the space! I have a neighbor with a yellow door and it looks great and I like that it is not so predictable for a front door.

Bright yellow? Like sunflower/mustard yellow or more like a marigold color?

I've always found brick difficult to pick colors for doors and trim. Anything in the reds and oranges is likely to blend too much or clash, and after a while, gray just gets boring. So I have my painter (as we speak) painting my siding a buttery yellow--Behr Pale Honey--and my trim a darker Behr Spiced Cashews. I'm liking it a lot.

Still painting...but here is how the yellows look with the brick. (Please ignore all the extraneous junk on the deck. It's soon to go in the almost-completed, also-yellow shed.)

Thanks for sending a picture!! I love your yellow!! I think I will need more of a bold yellow if I choose to go that route...a butter or soft yellow will look too much like my trim. I want more of a contrast. Ugh...

The pouring down rain delayed the finishing of my steps today but you can see the color of the brick a little more.

Did you paint yet?? First instinct : dark gray for actual door. If you want to lighten : trim around windows that flank the door : to match your house's window trim - inner trim : BRIGHT white - think it could look gorgeous - picking up the dark gray in the brick as well as the white - and still meshing with your home's windows while brightening - as you said you prefer..

They are finishing up the painting on the inside and want me to hurry and decide about the front door. My shutters are SW black fox so I could match the door to those and then like you said, paint the trim a lighter color.

Or you could do a really happy, statement door in red!

Because you say there is orange in the brick, the red would have to be a red/orange. I'd do the trim in gray.
