Good morning Anj

Hey Anj, Got your laundry all caught up yet? LOL Sorry couldn't resist teasing you. I know that is always my BIG thing after a trip!

It is always fun to go and see and do new things, but also nice to get back and into your usual routine too. Guess I will have allot of that soon, DH only has about 112 days until retirement now. We are both looking forward to it.

It is great that your folks are close by and able to take care of the kids while you were gone. Much as they love the kids, I'll bet they were "tired" by the time you got back, huh? I know just five or six hours with my little GD really wipes me out! She is such a go getter and since she only has Gma to play with here, she keeps me hopping!

Well, I'd better check over on holidays and then get some work done around here. DH worked all night, so will need to sleep when he gets home, so I might hit the TS just to get out a bit. I'll let you know if I find any "goodies". ;o)

    Hey you...

Nope I'm still doing laundry. I don't let anybody else do mine so all the kids clothes were piled up waiting for me too. It's getting there though. My mom did really well with the kids. They somehow managed to get around her on the homework though so we had to play catchup on that Sunday night. I'm sure she was as ready for me to be home as they were though. ha

I'm just not seeming to recover from this jet lag. I took 2 naps yesterday and I'm feeling like I'm gonna have to take one today. Just can't keep my eyes open. I think coming back just in time for the time change messed me up too.

I read a little yesterday and painted some on that horse cutout in between the laundry.

I cleaned out my pantry (big job) this morning. Got rid of some spices and thought I'd repurpose the little turntable they were on for my "in use" paints. Works really well! Holds about 10 bottles so perfect for when I'm in the middle of a project.

I thought about going over to Lowes to get some wood to cut out that leprechaun, but I have so many projects I need to get caught up on I'd better just put my nose to those and get some of them finished up before I bring on any more. Another reason I need to stay away from the TS. I cannot seem to be able to resist those cute deals! But I look forward to hearing about what you find. :)

I'm having a bit of spring cleaning fever if you can't tell. ha I'm feeling a bit piled up and want to get more organized and fresh. May be moving some furniture around this week. ha Want to pick out some paint for my living room and bedroom suite. Needs a fresh coat. I was so hoping my bathroom was going to be finished by the time I got back, but they never came back to do anything on it. I'm starting to get a little twerked over it. If I thought I could do it right I'd get in there and tile the dang thing myself. Grrr.

Anyway, I'm falling asleep sitting up here so I think I will go take a small power nap. Happy Shopping! ~Anj

Hi Anj, I'm waiting for dinner to cook, so thought I'd see what's going on on the forums.

I hit a couple TS this morning, pickins are slim. I got a little glass jar, another pink cup & saucer, a crocheted hat to decorate, a good sized box of beads for GD and I to play around with and piano like toy for her and a frame that holds two pics--spent less than $10.00. Not even any good books lately, I love it when I find a good book or some painting books!

It was so nice out today that I decided to vacuum out my car and wash it. All the bending over is sure hard on my back anymore, but I just felt like doing it instead of heading over to the car wash. Wanted to get all the dogs hairs out--my two goldens sure shed allot.

I cut out a piece of wood and am slowly working on that little Spring sign I mentioned in another post. One of my birthday gifts was a gift certificate to Joann's, so I bought some new One Stroke brushes. Got a set of three angle brushes in different sizes and then some really small detail rounds. I try to using larger brushes, but I really feel I have better control with the smaller ones. I'll try to not procrastinate too long on getting it finished! LOL

I need to do some painting too, but I sure dread taking everything off the walls and then having to put it back. I may just wait a few more months until DH retires and then he can help me--maybe!!!

Isn't it a good feeling to get closets, drawers, etc. all gone through and reorganized? I've done a bit of that too and donated a few things and trashed other stuff. Sometimes I wonder why I kept it in the first place! LOL

Better go eat now, I'll catch you later. ;o)

Sounds like you found a few good things at the TS. My heart gets pumping a little every time I find new painting books there. Most of the time they are too cutesy for me, but every once in a while I find that diamond. ha

I'm also not looking forward to taking everything off the walls to paint cause I have a lot of big shelves and things up on mine. But then I think that I won't have to do it again for a few years (hopefully) so it's worth it to have that fresh look.

You reminded me that I got a Michaels gift card for Christmas that I need to use. I'm gonna try to get some painting in today too. I'm feeling the need to finish at least one of these half finished projects I've got sitting around. I'm just so slow for some reason. Need to find something to paint on this oar I got for my brother. He has a collection of boats and ship stuff in one room of his house. I kinda remember a good pattern in one of the Q&E Painting mags from this past summer.

Think I'm gonna use the crockpot for supper tonight so I don't have to give up time for that. May do some soup since it's supposed to chill down tonight again and snow the next few days. Bummer. You could have kept that rain over your way. :D At least the weatherman said it was coming from Cali. ha

    Have a great one. ~Anj

Yep, I bet it did. The rain moved out of here a few days ago. Sorry it is bringing you more snow. ;o( Yesterday it was in the 80's when I was washing the car. Today the weather report said sunny and in the 80's, so I put on a pair of shorts this morning (first time this Spring) and guess what? There's very little sun and it's sorta chilly--might have to go change into a pair of jeans!

I'm thinking of doing some painting today--but not on my project yet, DH had to replace a wood post on our gate that had rotted out, so I need to get some primer and paint on it to protect it. The old one was up there longer than the eight years we've lived here, so that was pretty good I think.

I do have my pattern all traced on and ready for some painting--actually it is sort of "calling" to me, but I need to do the work stuff first or it will never get done.

DH will be getting called out to work in a few hours, so no cooking for me today--I usually just finish up the leftovers or warm up a can of soup when he is gone.

Oh, I wanted to tell you that my DIL sent me pics of GD and her friend bowling! Too cute! I didn't know they actually have a special "ramp" for the kids to roll the ball down. She said the two moms didn't get to bowl because the girls kept taking their turns! LOL She is growing up and changing so fast--where did that little baby go????? I'm invited to go along for her pic with the Easter bunny this year. We're going on Friday and then having lunch after.

I'll catch you later, have a good day! ;o)

Aw, I feel really sorry for you with your 80 degree weather. hahahaaha JK The snow delayed yesterday and is supposed to be here this afternoon. Oh well, at least it's almost spring. I'm really having Hawaii withdrawals! It was so nice to be warm!!
It seems like there is always something that needs to be fixed when you are a homeowner. We are now going to have to replace our master bath toilet and the water dispenser on the fridge just stopped working. Big sigh. You and DH seem to work well together. He puts up the post and you paint it. That's teamwork!
It would be nice not to have to cook here sometimes, but the crockpot is the next best thing. Throw everything in in the morning and forget it until supper. I made a good 10 bean soup last night with cornbread on the side. Everyone must have liked it cause there was only a dab of it leftover. ha
I saw those ramps when we went bowling not long ago for DS's b-day. Neleh and I did it the old fashioned way though, I held the ball and she "helped" me bowl it down the lane. Luckily we got a child lane with the bumpers in it so no gutter balls and she and I almost ended up the big winners. ha She got rather bored with it and decided eating french fries and napping on the table was a better use of her time so I got to bowl the second set by myself and won. I am thinking the same thing about Neleh. Where did my baby go? She's so grown acting and she's changing daily. They are still a hoot at this age though. Have fun with the Easter Bunny. My kids were always scared of him. ha My friend gets her kids pictures taken with real bunnies. Pretty cute. Ya'll will have a good day tomorrow.
Well, it's pretty dreary here. I'm gonna see if I can finish up this horsey and work on painting something else today. I'm not real happy with the horse....I'm out of practice, but it'll do. I may do a basket or a little boat for DB today. I've got plenty of projects to choose from. I've been housework lazy this week. Giving it a spit and a dab as my g-ma used to say. ha ~Anj
