Hello, I have a tall cabinet that my microwave is in. I do not like the wood showing behind and around the microwave.

I want to do mosaic with broken fiestaware pieces. I really do not want to attach directly on the cabinet in case I do not like it or want to change it.

What type material would you suggest that I use to place mosaic on ? Inside wall measurements are about 21x23". I have looked into Ceramic Tile Backer Board, a light no mesh cement board ? Would that be a good option ?

Any particular glue or grout required, not sure how much heat the microwave puts out would effect the mosaic.

Any and all thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
