Nativity Background

I was out looking for a nice box to mosyack the other day and came across this!!! It was a candle holder that was 70% off!!! I paid like $4 for it and rushed home to smash the candle part ofF(good thing I have that great pair of tin snips!)After much hammering and bending and snipping, I finally got that part off and then cut some old 70's glass I've been holding onto, it's plain jane(glass) but is a good background color I think. DH likes it and wants a base for it now.

OHHOWBEAUTIFUL. It's P.E.R.F.E.C.T. While ROSIE and I were out shopping at HobLob, we found several nativity thingies, but I bought nothing. Rather make my own, but your's looks like it was made for that purpose. I LOVE that, JANE!!! You have a really good eye for those things. It's a perfect background.

I like your creche figures too... Mary is looking at the baby... and Joseph is looking at Mary. Nice.

You are just so creative! I am slowly learning to look at things and think, what can I do with that?
It looks like it belongs as part of the whole set! Really
    BEAUTIFUL!

I have been having fun today, did the background, started the tray to go with it, AND just finished the cross, now I need to go look in the shed for dark brown grout for both. If not, I'll grout light and paint dark brown...

Gypsy: The lady tile was given to me by a lady in Bucerias, Mexico, and not only do Klinger and I have a plan to take you to her mosaic studio, but also to the tile store where you buy these tiles!!! Yipppeee! I cut the heart out with my glass saw. The pic isn't doing the colors any justice but I'll be posting another pic when I have it grouted....

Bucerias? Is that where you guys went? I was there back in '88 or '89 and had THE BEST TIME!!!!
And that's out Lady of Guadalupe depicted on the tile.

    But I digress....

The nativity background screen is just PERFECT but that cross........... STUNNING!!!!!!!!!!! I Love it! The amount of work you do is staggering. You really must start your 'Mosaics by Me' coffee table book. It will be a best seller!!!

You l'il heifer! Was it KLINGER that offered me her Lady of Guadalupe tile, and I was so touched, but didn't want to take it from her. Boy, have I been sorry ever since. Remember when we went to the tile factory, and I didn't buy one for Riana? I felt so bad later, that I ordered one to be sent to her. She's making a little niche for it. Girls, I simply can't WAIT patiently to get back there. Your cross is sooooooooo beautiful, and yes, you've put that saw to good use. I wanna make another one.

That CROSS is perfect! The TP tower is beautiful, you sure do have an eye for color!

I can not believe how lucky you were to find that backing for your nativity!! That is so perfect.

I just LOVE your cross!! It is so simply beautiful!! Perfect.

The TP tower is GREAT and I can not imagine why you did not want to finish it.I love all the different designs on it and the colors are so pretty. My only question is the wheels?? What is it your daughter does in the bathroom?? Heheheheh

I am so anxious to get my dresser done so I can work on smaller things. I might have to put it away for a little bit after I finish the one side and take a break from it. LOL Little play on words.

That tp tower is made of 3/4in plywood!!! Heavy duty! So I figured it would be convenient to have it on wheels so it doesn't scratch the floor by somebody dragging it. I bought the wheels at the dollar store and you certainly get what you pay for, but at least it's off the ground and isn't really going to be moved far anyways! It's actually a monster but it looks good!

YES it does look very good!!! I have one but it is light weight wood. Just another some day I would like to do thing.

    Thanks !! Chris

Well, Janey Bo. I am soooooo impressed w/both items. I LOVE the cross. It really is so well laid out and so well-designed. BEAUTIFUL. I canNOT imagine why you didn't like the TP tower. It's absolutely wondrous. I love the mix of the tesserae, the layering, the colors - well, the whole thing. Truly - two beautiful Janey projects. What's next?

Great idea for the nativity background! the cross is beautiful too! I like the tp holder, love the colors and the little thingy on the top, I'll bet you're glad you finished it.

Beautiful things, as usual! Your work is always so rich in colors and unusual design. Love the toilet paper holder idea, happy you finished it but it really is outstanding..now if I could figure out how to do one that only lets my kids have a couple sheets at a time....

HAHAHA!!! DIY!!! Good one! Now to go wipe my face from the coffee that just came outta my nose! DD is 23 and moved back home and it seems we are going thru TONS of tp!lol! No wonder why I thought this tp tower was a good idea when I was someone else make one!!!
