You sure have alot of cool things cut up. I haven't ventured into plates yet but your pic is getting under my skin.

What a great idea, using a tile! You could fill it with sand or rocks so it wouldn't go over in the wind (but still be moveable if needed), and put the address on three sides, and a pretty design on the side facing the house. Ok, so you've already thought of all that, haven't you? :) Just thinking this through as I type. I am lovin' this idea!

Bought my chimney tiles at a brick company. Yours looks much larger than those offered here. Believe me LADY, these suckers won't blow over - took two men to lift the one I did for my Bro, which looked to be the size of this one. This w/be a wonderful piece in your front garden, DIY. W/be a fun piece to watch progress.

Thanks all! The tile is 24" high, mine is 8" square. The concrete block place where I bought it has square, rectangles and round up to about 12" wide. All of theirs are 24" high. I was tempted by the round but after that curvy bird bath....I need something to set at the end of my driveway. We live on a 2 house cul-de-sac and my new neighbors took down the #1 sign at the end of their driveway for some reason. Nobody knows which house is which. I think I will do my design and then put the #2 in something visible on top of the other tiles. I'm only going to do it on one side because I'm planning to move in a couple of years (hopefully son off to college). Can you imagine me telling a real estate person, "You need to only show me houses that begin with the number 2 so I can reuse my mosaic address marker."

Ha!! That's exactly why I won't do one. This is our 5th house in the last 7 years. I might do a smaller one though..

I think the pieces you have to work with are just beautiful. I can not see how you could go wrong on this project. Looks like it will be very fun to do.
