Wow Slow I love that all of it!!Did your GD do the watercolor..it is again perfect for you I think,a Queen ought to have a frog prince ..right?Also I see you used the wooden heart I sent to,thats cool it looks so good on there.When I try to make frames like that I don't get things even ,like the top how'd you do that?

I REALLY LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT!!! The shape of the frame is so you....I love that shape. The watercolor is really cool and looks so great in your frame. Leave it to you to make it a masterpiece. WOW!!! I love it!!!

Well y'all have calmed my fears that the frame overwhelmed the painting. I felt that because the color was so bold, it could handle a bold frame. Wanted it to be organic and garden-y cuz of the frog. Yes, CRACK, my GD is a young artist major in her second year at college. She knows I love frogs, hence to gift. How I made the frame - cut the sides and top pieces the same size as the picture, then cut the topper. Attached them all on a piece of plywood around the painting. Had HobLob dry mount the painting to foam core, and w/spray it w/several coats of sealer for watercolor and insert into the frame. The 5/8" tiles around the frame are "honed Chiaro and Noce Mixed, and the others are slate. They were in the flooring section of Lowes. Since they are sorta colorless I added shards in the colors of the painting. Thank y'all a lot for kind words.

I've seen those tiles at Lowe's Love them. I haven't found a project for them yet!! Great job on the frame, really compliments the painting. i guess that artist gene got passed along!!

Oh, BTW, CRACK - glad you noticed the heart. I was looking around for just the right thing, and BAM - there it was - my signature for each piece. Thank you again. I'm still trying to come up w/the perfect project for the tiles from Jane and Cindy - saving them!!!!!!! I know y'all have things you save and save and save for just the right project.

Grouted the frame and love it. I decided not to seal the stones b/f grouting, cuz I like the tone-down look the dark grout in the pores makes. Still have a long way to go - wood filler, painting the frame and sealing the photo. I'll put an insert between the back piece and the photo to raise it to the level of the little stones around the inside of the frame. Making flowers to attach.

Not overwhelming at all. I think it has enough color to tie it in and keep it from being boring, but the frame doesn't compete with the painting.

Wow... just saw this! The grout just pulls it together... and once again.. your choices are perfect. (How do you do it? Ah... talent! :) I like the colors down the middle.. and the combination of stone and color.

She did a really nice job on the watercolor (another of my "things, that I don't do right now") and the frame is perfect. I am always so surprised at the change in look after something is grouted. I liked it before, but even more after grouting.

That grout did it proud that is for sure. It sure made it look splendid!!! It looked good w/o grout but it looks GREAT with it!!! Picked a good color for it!!!!

Well thank y'all very much. Yes, HAZIE - my GD painted it. She is very talented, and the family usually gets paintings on b.d. and Christmas. Four coats of sealer on the painting yesterday w/four more to go today. Y'all make me feel so good - thanks.

FINALLY got the framed painting hung today. DD and future SIL took charge and did a beautiful job in spite of my supervision. There are two photos. I'll be doing smaller projects in the future. Wish I could come up w/one.

Well thank y'all very much. Had to juggle other paintings around to make room for it, so told the GD to think SMALL in the future. Yes, MEADEL - By the time I got to that room in my house I was tiring of faux painting, so it only got one coat of a paint I mixed by pouring in about three leftover colors and then one coat of raw umber ragged on.
