Here is the peppmermint lazy bill that you all suggested I use green grout...well, I did, but I was so afraid of getting it too dark that I did not get it dark enough!

It's still kind of pretty, so I'm going to leave it.

Here are a couple of trays I made for 2 of my friends who each gave me a gift certificate to GW for my Bday...so I had to stop by on the way home and picked up these 2 pretty little saucers and here is what I did. "But, cindiloo, why oh why did you use that ugly brown mustard colored grout?" I can hear you say. (it's more yellow-y than pic shows). BECAUSE..the box of grout says it is silver platinum. It didn't look like it when I was mixing it up, but I thought it would magically somehow be silver platinum when it dried! Can you believe a 40-something woman still believes in magic!???

Lesson learned: Do a grout test first!!! OH, and don't believe everything you read!

Oh Cindioo! How pretty they are!
The pattern plates on your trays are BEAUTIFUL! Nice work!
Love the lazy "bill" too!!! Your plain tiles are just the thing for separation! (Hadn't heard about Bill before... but I like it! :) Nice

ROFL...sorry that Im laughing but man...silver platinum ends up being yellow!! Wow what a heart breaker. It doesnt look bad though but if you wanted couldnt you just paint over the grout? Not a wash but an all out paint job. I have painted grey grout gold with great success but if you decide to try it do a test piece first!!!

Your lazy bill (what is your hubbys name by the way!!!) is great, I like it with the light green grout.

Those are great cindiloo! The yellow looks like it goes well with your florals. I always have to paint with metalic silver paint to get the silver grout I'm looking for.

You have really been busy! I just work so slow!

I love them all, I think the lazy susan looks fabulous!

Oh yeah, that lazy bill turned out great! The trays really aren't that bad. It does look like that grout picks up on the color in your tiles. I'm sure you friends will love them!

I like the grout. That's just me, of course, and monochromatic is my comfort zone. And I love the lazy bill.

    Great job Cindiloo !

The lazy "bill' name came from Calmity and is now what I will always call them!
My ex-husband's name was NOT Bill, but my first serious boyfriend was and yes, he was pretty lazy, LOL!!!

After 8 hours of work, I came home and nope, they still have not turned silver! But I did take the box back and got another....

CINDI: That's the way all of us started out - learn by doing, and you chose well - small projects, which BTW, look pretty as can be. As someone has said, if you don't like the grout color, just paint it. Nice work - next project you'll be even better.

It's not exactly silver platinum so I can see how you would be disappointed from that aspect, but it actually complements the dishes quite well. If you hadn't mentioned that it was a mistake I would have thought it was a carefully calculated match. They look nice!

I think it complements the china too!! Love the designs you used in the china.

If you have not already tossed too far the little bits and pieces of left over grout you could use them to test dipping in paint or dye to see if you can make a change you are happy with.

I think they are great as they are.

Very pretty! Love the green and red and and the trays. I, too, would have thought you matched the grout to the china. I would have said, "I wish I could be that adventuresome with grout colors!"

I'm slowly learning to like the grout color...it did lighten up some and it does compliment the china...so maybe that's the kinda of artist I am....accidental!
Great tip about saving grout to test with paint, Chris!
I'll have to keep that in mind.
Thank you all for your complitments. Sure does help and keep me going!
