I'd go with white. Then the doodads and squiggles could be red and throw in a bit of buttery yellow to solidify that french country look. I think that'd be striking!

I vote white, too. I can't wait to see this finished!

I can never decide until after it's finished, but then I always paint after so I don't ruin the paint with grout

I like the idea of white with red accents also. To me.. that's always a crisp and fresh look. I admire red and white kitchens even though ours is kinda blah off white. Maybe it's makeover time!

I always paint everything white before I do anything...that way you can always change it later.

white... me too and some red stained glass, red and white glass globs, love the plates.....it will be soooo pretty. Go girl....can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks ,I had pretty much talked myself into white and I really want to keep it very simple with the plates the focus..It will be mostly white with a little red..now i gotta find a sideboard to go with it...I'm dreaming of finding a buyer..don't worry shades I won't glue on the hammer LOL!

How would you do these knobs..put tile around them and grout under edge of knobs are tile and put knobs on top?I'm afraid they will stick out too much if they are sitting on top,a screw goes thru the back..It's taking a while I could not find my dremel to take out part of mirror for the plates..Thanks

If you're afraid of them sticking up too high, then yes, go ahead and attach, then tile around.
Your mirror is looking really nice. I was just thinking about this piece last night!!

Well now that I look the little knobs might get lost so I may just sit them on top and let them stick out ....who know?

I think GYPSIE left her handle then tiles around them, which I like. I think you were right the first time - they'll stick way up if you leave them for the top, unless you cut off the shanks where the screws go. That is gonna be the neatest mirror. WHAT do you mean - dremel to take out part of the mirror????? You have a diamond blade on your dremel????? Beautiful idea on the plates left intact.

No Slow I took off part of the wood around the mirror and the frame so the plates would sit down into it a little.my husband will cut off the shanks for me .I hate these minor decisions that hold you up LOL

Oh, I got it. BTW - what are you tiles - glass or ceramic tiles or plates. They fit beautifully - like a puzzle. You nip so well - looks measured.

Nope no measure ,they are ceramic tile ,I wanted it kind of rustic,just broke with hammer and then nip to fit.I spend way too much time fitting together but thats me and I don't think I'm gonna change lol..I do have a set of diamond drill bits I bought for my dremel to drill holes in glass ,at one point I was going to make windchimes but never did.
