OHGOODGRIEF!!! You are so talented, D3. Both are just wonderful. I wouldn't know where to begin making a kaleidescope. I LOVE the welcome plaque, and yes, how DID you cut the palms? Looks like a ring saw job to me.

I love them both, but I am amazed at yoour plaque. The cutting is so exact and interesting. How about the "Welcome" sign, did you cut that? The whole thing looks wonderful, I love the birds, the sail boat, the palms, everything. What a great job.

Thank you All for your generous comments. The plaque is going to hang next to our front door. Now have to get DH involved to hang it.

I cut the letters and palm leaves with my ring saw. For the letters, I chose a font on Word, printed it out, glued onto the glass with rubber cement, then sealed the paper with rubber cement and cut.

This was my first kailedescope. I messed up on the first wheels so that was my delay; I just was rushing too much before the holidays. Also working with non-leaded solder is a real pain! I like the IDEA of soldering, but when I start doing it I am shaken back into reality and know I shouldn't be doing it.

Jane, it really is easy. Buy a kit and you can EASILY do one with all of your SG talent and experience!

Your welcome sign is beautiful. Love the colors you used, so soothing. Your GD is going to love the kaleidescope even if it's late.

The whole thing is nice, but the sails and palm leaves really make the piece for me. You have wonderful attention to detail.

Beautiful job on both! Love the plaque! I NEED a ringsaw, it cuts so many shapes that you just can't do with a cutter.
