Thanks, everyone. Yes, the trivet is a recycled find at the SA Thrift- 50¢. I'll use black grout on that one. Yes, SUPER fast project- did it in the 20 mins that I let the pitcher grout set up.
Oh, and I did end up doing the underside of that spout. Had to use tiny pieces, and had to shave them down so they weren't as thick as the rest of the pieces so as not to completely make an entire mess under there. Here's a pic of the under-spout:

As soon as I looked at it this morning, those handles stuck out like a sore thumb.
I had set the other tiles just 'inside' the edge of the handle so after grouting it would still be comfortable to pick up. It's a heavy piece, so I'm thinking now that someone likely WOULDN'T use it, but it can be used...but since it IS so heavy, heck, another couple strips of green tiles won't hurt.

Ok, I'll rectify that this evening.

I love the pink and green and the flower on it. Is it a little weighty to use? Or is this a look at pitcher?

sirius- see post just above yours. I'd say it weighs in at 5-7 lbs presently. Filled with liquid, you'd definitely need two hands to use it.

Your pitcher came out so pretty, the green tiles add just the right touch. I would be afraid to add tiles to the handle but since you did the underspout so perfectly, I'm sure you'll do them as well. Love the flower addition. Very cute trivet. Isn't it nice to have something that just goes together without agonizing over choices?

BRAVO!!! Beautiful job. And I agree with the green handle tiles. Even though it is a bit heavy for using as a pitcher, it will make a lovely vase!

Sure- I bought one of THESE from HD. It has a rough side, and a 'fine' side. Very handy.

Yeah, but don't try to file the edges of colored tiles; it chips the color. I use it mainly for the bottoms of tiles to file off that 'waffle' thing going on under there so they'll sit flat- especially if I don't need to 'float' them at all.
And it comes in handy to file off the edges of backsplash sections after grouting.

PERFECT, and your treatment under the spout was EXCELLENT.

Love the tiles on the handle. I love the colors of this also.
I keep my dremel handy, and use silicon carbide grinding wheels on it to shave tesserae and clean up an edge of something. I stick it inside a grocery bag while grinding to contain the dust.
