In this particular case of a bouquet, I started with the
layering of which flowers are in front of the others...
to maintain some sort of perspective. I know
what I'm doing, color/glass wise with the
stems & leaves, however the cord has to be done
first (still no idea as to what it will be) then
lastly the background...still working on ideas there too.

Fantabulous! I love that you do WIP shots of your projects. They are so large and intricate that it's fun to see the progress along the way.

I hate to even suggest something to a Great One, but what about gold Van Faux for the cording? It would give you a little bit of of glamour without too much bling.

Your idea is an interesting one, however, being the
lonely object in the bottom of the pix, I'd be afraid that the
bit of reflective bling may draw too much attention.
I'm already uncertain as to whether the eye will
drop there as it is. I'll play around with it, thanks :)

without glass - for me it was the center flower but now I'm not finding a particular spot. Do you have a goal for that or just playing by "ear"?

Oh, my - another masterpiece. Your style is to die for. I had thought you were putting it on the glass in the frame, but see you're using hardibacker instead. Very beautiful. TIFFY: Hardiboard is a made of concrete - for counter tops in kitchens/baths.

Nice: the focal, as I see it (insert crazy smiley here)
is the largest openfaced flower. It's the only
one-of-a-kind element...except for the cord. But I
suppose that after all this work everyone will
be drawn to the stoopid cord as a focal...sheesh.
Maybe Andrea was right and I should do something special with it...

How beautiful!! The colors and the flow are perfect! I am so-o-o-o envious of those who can actually draw and have it look like what it's supposed to be! Couldn't draw my way out of a paper bag even if the top was open....

Aha - beads! I thought all of those small pieces were hand cut. Not that it's any less impressive because you used beads!

Still cogitating on that cord. Can you leave a space and glue a real cord and tassel on after grouting? I don't know that that wouldn't also draw the eye, though. hmmm

Pat, I am also severely lacking in the drawing department. I have a cousin who can draw anything but doesn't do it. He says it's boring and that anyone can do it. As if!

How DO you transfer that imagine onto hardiboard?. And it looks like your hardiboard is white?? I would really like to be able to do this -would make it so much easier to follow a pattern...

This was so Impressive I stopped DH to show him, now we are bug eyed together.

This is a type of masterpiece that would catch my eye in a new way every time, I could easily be in love with this for a lifetime!
