Oh, annie!! So sorry to hear of that happening to you!! Here's what I would do (but as I mentioned in the thread about cutting my own mirror frame I may be unnecessarily complicating things.) I would carefully scrape the remaining adhesive from the spaces, glue down more gold pearls and then carefully 'float' grout around them using a toothpick (to pick up bits of grout) and a damp artists brush (to make the grout flow inbetween the pearls).

I bet someone has a better solution, tho.....

Well I'm thinking of that curb but they were such a mess I just thought I'd try another bead or something,maybe a paint brush would work tho???I wanted gold because of her gold dress,of course I was outside and it was my 4th piece and the wind was gusting 50 mph and nothing was going right for me so maybe thats why I messed them up LOl..thanks annie

I have trouble grouting beads/pearls also. Why not put in the space a mixture of your adhesive plus your grout and just sink the pearls into it w/gentle pressure so you don't have to grout? That's what I used to add beads to my bathroom wall where the old tiles were put back in and I hadn't gone far enough w/the tesserae. Laurie uses Aleen's Paper Glaze to glue in her beads in spaces between her tiles. I use it too, and it works wonderfully. It dries clear and has a very fine point on the bottle for easy dispensing, should you deside against adhesive/grout mixture. It's beautiful, BTW.

This is very beautiful, and I just wouldn't be able to pick a fav from all the ones you've made, but here's my suggestion: Why not paint the grout a metalic copper or some such and be done with it? I just think it's fine the way it is actually!!!

Gel medium has very strong adhesive quality, but when we were filling in spaces w/beads in her workshop we used the Paper Glaze. On the label of Golden Gel Medium the uses are: Use for glazing, extending colors, altering sheen, changing body, increasing translucency, gluing collages and increasing film integrity. She uses it in photo transfers by putting the G. medium onto an image, placing it face down on the baked clay tile, burnising it, then start to rub the paper off the the back, leaving the image on the clay tile. You can find the medium in the artists paint section of Michaels. The brand name is Golden.

I love your crosses! To bad about the beads, I've never used them before, so can't offer a solution. I'm sure whatever you end up doing will be just as beautiful as all your other crosses.

Beautiful cross..........love all you've done.....when I've lost beads, I just glue them back on and regrout.....gently.........Slow's idea would probably be best, however...........

Why not try the seed beads (dark blue or gold). Fill the area with clear glue and sprinkle the seed beads in. Let dry and wa-lah, you will have a whole new look!

I'm sorry it didn't work out. I've not tried anything like that, so no advice, but what about just painting the grout lines the same color gold as your pearls were? It's just BEAUTIFUL nonetheless!

That's beautiful Annie, I'd do what Slow suggested. Pregrout with thinset and sink new gold pearls in... I think your 1st design sounds beautiful!

ANNIE - I mixed grout and thinset to sink the large beads in next to the wall. If you look closely at "full size", you can see the gap I had to fill. The thinset/grout mixture is very strong - I mixed half/half. Those puppies are IN THERE. You could try it on another small project to experiment first b/f the cross.

I've done as Becky suggested. The glue I use is Alenes quick dry tacky glue. It drys clear and flows nicely. Just squeeze out of the small nozzle, and press in the beads.
