My stash is diminishing, and I need to re-stock, and w/buy smaller bags in the future, cuz I'm slowing down and it DOES go bad after awhile. The eagle w/be a sight to behold when mosaiced. Soooo hope you keep us posted of your project. Oh, wait - you're only mosaicing the base, right? Mis-read your message. How are you protecting the wood? What a wonderful project.

WOW!!! I just got lost reading all the posts from Garden Junk! Had to go see that your brother carved this gorgeous eagle!!! You make sure he knows we think he is Major Talented!!!! This will be such a gorgeous project!! I'd do pebbles! But I am into them right now! Especially since going to mexico, where they use them everywhere, even the roads are pebbles!!!

Wow! That's already impressive, can't wait to see what you do with the pedestel. I like Jane's suggestion of pebbles.

Thanks ya'll! Yep I'm going to mosaic just the base...I was thinkin red, white and blue...but it doesn't really go with anything else in the garden.
Slow I used 'MINWAX HELMSMAN SPAR URETHANE' It's the first time I've tried it, put on 4 coats. Probably will reseal at the end of summer. I wanted marine varnish...it's $30 quart!!!
I will take pictures as I go.
