Ok, so a couple of weeks ago I was dying my hair and was just about to thro the nozzled bottle away into the recycle, when I thunk, hey! I could maybe use this for intricate grouting, so I put it in my Art Room...well this morning as I was hauling out a big tube of silicone, and the gun, debating how I was going to keep damage control down to a minimum(Gypsy can relate!LOL!) when I figured I'd try the nozzled bottle...well, it WORKS awesome!!! Absolutely no mess and smooth as anything! Yippee! I'm glad to have this forum for people to give me these great tips, cuz that's where the idea came to me, someone previuosly mentioned doing it. Oh, and I'm hoping I can get this done today so I can grout tomorrow..wink! ;)

Are you saying it's time to dye the gray out of my hair for the sake of easier grouting? LOL!

Grey hair is like weeds, they just grow back faster than I can keep up!LOL! I'm ready for the background now, which is some 70's green glass that I scrounged for dirt cheap! Altogether there will be 6ft of glass used. I've done this easy pattern on a window and a garden globe but it just calls me to do on mirror now!

WAIT A MINUTE HERE!!!!! You have hired help!!!!! How in this world did you do that so fast? From the time of your first posting and this one, there were only about 11 hrs. Spectacular! Oh, I can't tell, but are the butterfly outlines glass too? And to think - I gave away the shower door I took off my shower when I moved here. DANG!!! Your green background w/be PERFECT. What an artist!!!

Ok so I'm confused.... did you put the silicone in the squirt bottle???? Your speed amazes me.

Love this......and I especially am impressed with the reuse of the squirt bottle from the dye......and to think all these years I have pitched these useful bottles away......just last week too...I have got to try it.....to save my sanity...thank you wise one!!!!!

Yes the black outline for the butterflies is glass, and yes, the silicone was gun squeezed into the squirt bottle(I just LOVE it!!) and today I will be cutting up and tumbling the green, glueing it on and see how I do, if it turns out the way I want, this will be a keeper!!! I'm now shooting for my first Garden Art Sale on April 5th, which is a relief cuz I have LOTS of weeding to do to spruce up my yard for the "Event"! (If I can pry myself away from mosaicing long enough!lol!)

It sure looks nice. I am a bit confused too, the first pic of the shower door does not look like a mirror but the finished one does? Will you just grout around the flowers and leave the mirror exposed? (Maybe my coffee is not working or my eyes)
I do marvel at how fast you work. I could use some of that concentration.

Wow! Wow! and extra WOW! I think it is amazing how you do it so fast. I'm like Slow, I think you brought home some help from PV! This is the gal that offered to grout for me!I have plenty for you to do, too bad you are not coming this week-end. At the pace you work you could do all of my grouting on Sunday.lol
I think everything is just fab. Are you doing the danglies by just gluing 2 parts to monofilament? I will try some in my spare? time. I did some for my blue bottle mirror tree and totem. They are wonderful when the sun hits them.

Speedy Gonzales, thats what you are! I cant believe it, it is absolutely gorgeous, with the green it will be even more so. WOWOWOWOW! Now I am also looking for a shower door, used to have one, but my husband got rid of it. Got to watch him like a hawk, he throws out things, that I might want to save. So now I hide stuff, LOL.

Meadel, the 1st pic is the mirror lying on the worktable, reflecting the ceiling, does that help? I was just thinking of how I shoulda grabbed the 2 clear doors that go with this(set), I coulda done them all and had the clear ones on either side of this mirrored one, and a flower bed planted up in front, hmmmm... I'm also frustrated with this silicone cuz I've been spoiled with my fav marine silicone($4) that dries clear in 10 min!, this stuff takes forever...forgot about that! Oh well, trying to be frugal!lol!($2/tube)This stuff, one tube will do the whole thing, the other kind would be at least 2. I am just so inspired by everyones Spring Exchange, it's been a flower power time!!!

Darn Silicone isn't drying fast enough!!! I'm torn between a crown made the Riana way, or a snake, also Riana way, or another GOG....But also thinking of making a brick tower like Flag has been doing and mosaicing that, love the 3d and the height ideas....hmmmm, or completely head off in some other different direction, just don't know!!! LOL!

Forgot to mention that I buy GE Marine Silicone in the hardware stores, GE is a popular brand and most places carry it, tho I don't remember seeing it in Home Depot ot not.
