tray grouted

grouted in moss green-almost looks gray to me but i like it. dont remember who was talking about cleaning up beads and globs after grouting but i tried using a wet brush and floating the grout between the beads.what a great idea.did not have to pick at the grout around all those beads...barb

That is simply beautiful. Wonderful arrangement of pieces, and colors, and I LOVE the border. Great job on choosing the grout. Shows everything up well.

It's fabulous! I agree with hrsg, it does look victorian. Such neat work - I'm envious - wish I could do it like that!

That turned out really great..the green is very light isn't it? I just love what you did to it. The globs around the edges just set it off. Did you color was the grout green or did you mix it green? I just re-read you post, sounds like you grouted with moss green!!!

Balje: Beautiful job! I'm sure the photo is NOT doing it justice!

Oooh, I love it! It's a wonderful piece and Rosie's probably right about the photo not doing it justice.

I like pink so you gotta know I like it! I got a tray the other day at the thrift and would like to put a focal in the middle like you have there. Where the focal is does yours dip down lower like originally there might have been a silver bowl? I've got so much stuff in line here that I want to mosaic. I've got to stop buying, puts too much pressure on me!!! So hard though when you find it and it is so cheap...

yes there was a depression in the middle which my focal with footer fit into. made it nice and level with the rest of the glass...barb

barb- Can you explain a little more about how you 'floated' the grout between those beads? I'm not sure I really 'get it,' and someone here was looking for info on how to do beads. I found this thread, so figured the info was worth bumping.

The choice of glass and plates is wonderful. I love pink and green. The edging with the beads finished it off really nice.

    Wow - that's really nice

grout as usual and wipe off excess then take a small artists paintbrush-dip in water and wet the grout over the beads. when it gets wet enough the grout will float off the beads. after it dries clean up as usual. this was advice from someone on this site who used beads on a mannikin and it worked wonderfully....barb
