Faucet Discounters on Ebay

I am in the process of picking out faucets. Already have the Grohe Ladylux Cafe on order for the kitchen but am looking for more economical choices for the laundry room and wet bar sinks. Have been looking at Price Pfister which has the Tuscan Bronze and Rustic Bronze finishes which would go great with my color scheme. Have done pricing at HD, Lowes and area contractor kitchen/bath centers. Found an ebay seller called Faucet Discounters which does a huge number of sales on new plumbing fixtures at greatly lower prices than I have found anywhere else. Anyone have any experience with this vendor in particular? Any pros and cons to using Ebay for certain remodel products? Trying to decide whether I should just buy local at higher price or take a chance on bidding on same item at much lower cost?

I used eBay/internet for most of my kitchen purchases and saved lots of $$$. With eBay look at past purchases of the item you want to buy, calculate the average price paid with shipping and set your top price you want to pay from that information. Be patient and don't go over that price, there are always other auctions. It took me about a week and several bids to finally get my faucet which I saved $243 from MSRP!
With internet sites, be sure and calculate in shipping and tax charges in the final price. Also check out return policies. Stay away from Homeannex.com, very slow shipping, terrible customer service. But I've had great luck with many other sites (faucets2u.com, PCappliancerepair.com, Frigodesign.com, Homeandstone on eBay) to name a few. Good Luck!

I haven't bought from Faucet Discounters, but...have bought from The Lockset Discounters (which I believe are 'related'). We purchased lots of interior knobs from them last summer and just this month, purchased exterior sets from them. No problems what so ever. Very easy to combine purchases and receive the discounted shipping rates. Everything received was in perfect condition (even the boxes). Also, they shipped very quickly.

I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them again.

Thanks for the good info and positive responses to ebay purchases. I will definitely keep my eye out for specific items that I know I want to incorporate into my remodel project. I have been using ebay for years for small item purchases from individuals, but have not dealt with any of the major ebay "stores. I suspect the well-known stores will be more consistently safe and reliable than individual sellers in general. I am glad to know I have another resource for finding the items needed.

    Thanks!

If time is of the essence make sure you check their shipping dates. I was going to bid on one sellers faucet (he had a make an offer option) but I noticed that he generally ships 2-3 weeks out. I ended up paying a little more for the same faucet from a different vendor who ships immediately after receiving payment. Time is of essence for me!

And now I am glad that I've made so many little purchases on eBay over the years; it's nice to have the reputation count for something when you want to make the more expensive purchases. Happy bidding everyone!

I just bought Price Pfister Ashland in Satin Nickel from Faucet Discounters. I have yet to receive my product BUT I they clearly said that the things I bid on may not ship for up to a week after my payment cleared. So it is as someone suggested--pay attention to how long they project shipping to take. I did have to go to www.faucetdirect.com to get some of the more immediate things the plumber needed (valves!) because they had 2 day business ship (and insulation starts tomorrow with drywall on its heels)

I just had a great experience with Faucet Discounters 2 weeks ago. Ordered an item from them, had it in hand three business days later (and I'm in Canada, no less). Item arrived in great condition in the original packaging. I'm a bit confused by how they can do it so much cheaper than retail, too!

Another thumbs up for Faucet Discounters.
It took less than a week for my faucet to arrive here in Canada. The brokerage fee/taxes were included in the shipping charge (which was quite reasonable), so there were no surprises when UPS delivered the package to my door.
I love my new faucet - now I just need a new kitchen to put it in :)

I recently ordered a very nice pull-out Price-Pfister from Faucet Discounters. It was about a third of the price of the cheapest local plumbing supply house. It took about 10 days to arrive, but it's beautiful and appears to be great quality. I haven't installed it yet.

I found an article that implies that Faucet Discounters is owned by Price-Pfister as a way to sell overstocks and discontinued items without ticking off their normal distribution channels. It's mentioned in the linked article about two-thirds of the way down.

Here is a link that might be useful: Corporate America's New Outlet Mall

Very interesting article tgpdd. That probably explains why I can't find one of the new model Price Pfister faucets I have been looking for on the Faucet Discounters ebay store. Still, if I can save up to 2/3 of the retail price I don't mind last years model if it is a reasonable replacement in looks and function :)

I purchased the Price Pfister Amherst set in chrome from Faucet Discounters. Also, I got a new faucet for one of our bathrooms as well as a tub faucet/shower head set from them. We are very pleased with our purchases. Couldn't beat their prices anywhere.

Anyone concerned about warranties and parts availability when one buys from eBAy??

I'm not as concerned about the warranties (not sure what you mean about the parts availability) as I am with the junk we have to select from at the Big Box stores. The fancy plumbing supply store offered to order me a KWC faucet with a 20% discount off the retail price. I was able to get it NIB from an eBay seller for a fraction of the retail price. The KWC I bought on e-bay was only slightly higher than the average, ordinary, run-of-the-mill faucets at Home Depot. Am I worried that it's going to break because I got it from a source other than a plumbing specialty shop? No. BTW, what I got was a KWC Edge for 249.00. I'm still doing the happy-dance.

I too bought from Faucet Discounters and was very pleased, and did it again. The faucets I bought came with lifetime manufacturer warranties (Pfister).

I've purchased from Lock and faucet on ebay and received one shipment but the other is way past due which had me looking for info.

What I find after about 1minute looking is
    The Lockset Discounters
    AKA
    Black & decker
    Location Type: Branch
Industry: Repair Shops and Related Services, N.E.C.
    Ownership: Private

    REPAIR SHOPS?????????????
    now THAT does worry me.

    1) who on earth is working for CNN that that can't find that after a minute
    2) why would Price Pfister deny something that is easily found out (hello! Public Record!)
    3) I became worried and called too late - they close call center at 4 pst and it's 7:45 EST so I must call back to find out what on earth.
    4) maybe I'll call CNN and ask them what on earth is wrong with their writers "By Erick Schonfeld"
