When you mosaic it make sure you put some of what ever you are using make sure you put it a cross your brake like putting on a band aid .I hope you understand this .I would put the tape on the inside and put some thinset on the tape That should hold it good.Hope this helps.

Oh, FLAG - I'll bet your were just plain physically sick over that break. Looks like you have a handle on it, but if it were mine, I'd be dubious on the long-run hold. Terra Cotta is just clay and is so fragile, especially under the conditions this pot has been, and wants to return to the earth. (I'm making this up.) If I REALLY wanted to ensure it's strength, I'd probably give it a thin coat of thin set all over. I repaired a very fragile clay pot for a friend. It was in so many pieces, but had a flowered design that helped w/the puzzle. I used thinset for adhesive, and like NANATRICIA suggested re the inside, I put a heavy coat of thinset over each break. I wish you succes on saving this beauty. It'll be a beautiful piece mosaiced. Yes, those scalloped borders are wonderful.

WOW! LOVE that puppy! And all the other goodies in the album too, couldn't help myself, had a peek! lol! Once terra cotta cracks around here, it's toast, but I like Slow's comment to cover that puppy good with thinset and cover the tops over so moisture doesn't get inside anymore. Maybe with that stepping stone!heh heh!

I can't get to the inside, I have already fixed the break and the hole in the bottom is too small. I only have the tubing from the pump through the hole. I will probably put water coursing out of it again. The only part that fills w/water is the very top flared out part. I use a plastic plant saucer with a hole in it siliconed in place for the top, therefore the whole pot does not have to fill with water for it to overflow. I guess all the advice about thinset is what I will do. I have been making tiles for this baby for the last couple months and am dying to get it covered and back in place in my bog garden.
Thanks for the kudos on the edgers. I bought about 50 of them last weekend at an estate sale and have been covering them with scraps of tesserae that I would not use on anything else. Will grout them today and start on another batch. They seem to be covered with offcuts. LOL
I also got a couple of pedestal sinks and want to mosaic one in it's entirety pedestal and all and them place over a reservoir and have water running all the time in the basin. I know someone here did one, but I can't remember who. I will do a search and see if I can find it. Any suggestions on the sink project will be appreciated.
I guess I am behind on pictures as I have finished the back splash, all grouted and sealed. I also finished the mirror and the big urn with all the circle tiles sold last weekend, so I better get busy and do more pics. I am also working on a few gazing ball stands. But mostly I am awaiting Rianna's class so I can do a big flamingo or something to really go with this big urn. I can't wait. I know it will be a real fun time and I hope I learn a lot.
