Hey, NICE - I can always count you you to blow me away w/compliments - much appreciated. Yes, it turns very easily, so it'll be interesting to see it in the wind. I'll anchor it well on it's platform, and hope it all doesn't take off.

Slow, I should never be surprised by what you will mosaic. When I read turbine, I thought surely she doesn't mean one of those things on the roof, but when I saw your photos I said surely she did! LOL It is quite interesting and looks fit for a King. I love those irregular gems on the top! As always your design is stunningly beautiful.

Boy, you really CAN mosaic ANYTHING, can't you?! What a great idea. Take a photo of it spinning, ok? Well, guess it would have to be photographed at a pretty slow speed to get the visual effect, huh? Well, just tell us about it! Very cool!

BAMA: I was gonna get a new one from Lowes, when I found this one at a flea mkt. You can have one too. SHRTY: No time to monitor both sides lately, so probably won't post in the junkyard. WENCH: LOVE that - Twirling Turban. Yep - I love the Middle Eastern ANYTHING - their arts/crafts are soooo wonderful. CALAM - in your dreams - no outfits for me, please. In my youth, when those palace pjs were in style, I wore them a LOT to parties and entertaining. Thanks again. DREAD the grouting.

That's so very kind of y'all. I sorta like this piece a LOT. NICE: It was one of the most difficult pieces I've grouted. Applying the grout wasn't as bad as the cleanup. I used mortar, and you know how sticky that stuff is, but I got busy w/using up leftover mortar by sticking more things to my workshop wall, and left it to dry too long and had to wet brush and literally SCRAPE it off. Believe me, scraping on the inside of the blade was no picnic. It took several hrs. to clean that puppy up. I should have followed my instincts and left it ungrouted, cuz the results aren't worth the work it took. Because the grout isn't colored, it didn't add that much, and I was so sick of it by the time I finished, I didn't color the grout my favorite charcoal gray, so thar she stands. I had PLANNED to offer this piece at the trunk show, but that l'il darlin' ain't going NOWHERE! Thanks for your kind words, girlies.

I just love this idea. I love it so much, I ALMOST picked one up today. This construction thrift store that I go to had one for $14.99. I had no clue what they cost, but when I got home I looked it up on the Home Depot site, and their price was $23.95. So I guess it was a good price. But it was actually good that I showed some restraint (for a change), because I'm soooo running out of room to store things, and I've got so many things lined up "to do". I'm sure you know what I mean, right?

It really needed something a bit taller on top but I didn't have anything appropriate and wanted to get that sucker mounted and move on. If I find something down the road, I'll add it to the top - something pointy.
