Dining table with leaves

Hi, I have been nosing around online looking for a dining table. Does anyone have any websites for dining table with leaves?

I am kind of struggling. There is a Crate and Barrel one, the Pranzo 2 I like, but it is $1699 and no chairs included. That's a little beyond what I want to spend once throwing in the chairs.

Looking for simple design; legs, not a pedestal. Ideally would like it about 36" wide (maybe 38") since that is the width of our current table and it works well for the space.

Am in the Pacific Northwest if anyone knows a local maker or how to find one.

Please forgive me if I'm in the wrong forum but I don't see one for dining rooms.

This is the company that made my dining room table which has two leaves. http://www.canadel.com/

If I were you I'd look on Craigslist. There seems to be lots and lots of dining tables, in my area at least. I bought one with leaves off Craigslist last spring and am very happy with it. It was a bargain compared to a new set and it is in perfect condition.

My dining room table is manufactured by Tom Seely Furniture and has four leaves. I have two leaves stored under the living room sofa, one behind the sofa and one in the basement! The table is huge with all the leaves. They also make this table with two leaves. I bought it at a local furniture store that sells better lines of furniture. I really love this table. I have six chairs. Fortunately I also have a bunch of kitchen chairs that work well with it for those rare times when I have a big crowd for dinner.

Check out Bassett for some really reasonably priced ones in different leg styles and finishes plus you can pick out the chairs you want to go with them. We recently bought a simple one with a leaf for our lake condo. I've also been pleased with our Lexington DR furniture (main house). It is very large with 2 24-inch leaves.

Not sure where you are, but Seattle Craigslist has many dining tables and sets posted daily in all types of styles. Many appear to be in great condition. My preference is to search under the "By Owner" tab in the furniture section to avoid the junky ads from dealers. Without editorial comment, let me just add that you'll find more options if you search under both "dining" and "dinning".

We recently purchased this set with 2 leaves from a floor sample on clearance for our new vacation condo - except that ours has a light maple finish with the black trim. It replaces the set that was there when we bought the place furnished which had white vinyl chairs and a fake cement base with glass top table (doing the happy dance now). Made in the USA.

And I forgot to mention that the leaves "self store" under the table top, really a nice feature.

Thank you all for your thoughts.
For those who mentioned Craigslist, I will keep looking, but really not seeing extension tables. It hasn't been fruitful to date. I will, um, definatley keep "dinning" in my search!

Woodie, that table is gorgeous. I will read more about this company and call them. I have been a little hesitant to hit some of the Online stores I see without hearing from someone who went to them.

I also really like the Canadel. This is not a formal room, that would also work for my room in the right color. I am surprised to see it is sold at a store here that normally only offers unfinished furniture. So I'm definitely stopping by there once school starts. If it is self-finished, I'm not sure if we'll go that route. We have done that route for my son's furniture but a little nervous about getting the chairs done well. We won't talk about the bedroom dresser I've been stripping paint from for six months.

I think the Bassett in our area went out of business...I assumed it was everywhere? I will recheck on that. Lexington, we have a Lexington Bob Timberlake TV armoire that I love, but it was pretty expensive. They were six months late on delivery so I got some price knockdowns after all. I will have to look where Lexington is in my area. I had just kinda assumed they were beyond our price point.
