Another thought: go over to flickr.com or to photobucket.com and do the same search. These artists are amazing! And so many unique ideas!

Here's one I did some time ago. Used the curved edge of the plate to come down over the edge.

DAISY...I did a LS with a b&w checkerboard border and then just painted the edges to continue the pattern. I was too lazy to cut more glass and I just wanted to be done with it, but it did make it look more 'finished'.

I love lazy susans! I did one that I kept, I usually give everything away, anyway here it is! I did gray grout, I don't have a pic of it finished yet! Anyway, this is how I did my edge.

Jennie, it looks as though you broke your plate(s) into smaller pieces and then it appears you used even pieces with some curve to them. Did that work out all right as far as the finished surface?

I'll sure enjoy seeing that piece finished! It's wonderful.

Daisy, I was just thinking that It would be cool if you did one in a tree branch pattern, or with leaves, so it looks as if it were suspending the bird house ??

The curves are from the shape of the plate. Small things tend to tip a bit, but larger things sit fine! The floral filler part is thicker too, but it works pretty good! Good luck!

Lori, I love the idea of a branch. Without thinking "Why?" I had been toying with a branch idea (need to look at my plates), but GREAT idea to have it look like birdhouse was suspended. Fun!
