As I said in someone's thread yesterday, I mosaiced over very heavily glazed ceramic ducks and I also mosaiced a pitcher/bowl set. The pitcher/bowl set was ugly brown. I used metallic paint to cover the brown. I THINK I used the Mapei ready-mix on that set, but on the ducks I used Mapei mortar for the adhesive AND grout.

I have VersaBond thinset. Will that work with no problems? I really don't want to mess up since I've never done this before and would really like for it to turn out.

As I always state, I can't guarantee anything, and most of my work is experimental, so all I can say is try it. Not familiar w/VersaBond but I'd say any thinset w/work. I WILL say that for any outside project, I would only use thinset or GE II. I've stopped using silicon UNLESS I'm actually working outside so I'm not breathing fumes.

Wow! You're art is amazing!!! My mom and her husband are art hounds(I can't tell you how many museums,galleries and art festivals I've been to.) My DH's family are artists(my DH's aunt was my mom's art teacher)so I know what I'm talking about! Wonderful! PJ
