Love your start on your GOG. Pretty colors too.

Yoda has to cure? How long? Are you using regular cement? Or a Riana recipe? What is your recipe? I have a form made & now have to add the cement.

Hey Cac: About the Yoda, I have been doing it all wrong, trying to find an easier softer way..lazy....and have been frustrated as the 1part concrete and 1part sand is too easy to smoosh thru the fine mesh that I am using, so I had to add some more concrete to thicken up the mix so I could pattycake it together, not a good idea, and so I am covering it with a damp towel(and plastic bag) so it won't dry too quickly. I have been so impatient with doing this type of project that I am paying the price, as there is no easier softer way..when will I learn!!! It'll be interesting what I do when I start the "Throne" Chair that is inspired by Cait's Bench!ha!

Jane. your GOG is going to be fabulous. I see you have lots of projects planned. When DH gets home he is going to think he came to the wrong house. LOL

thanks for filling us in on YODA. He will be extra special when you get done and you will be thrilled that your science experiments came out so well. I think he looks cool as he is right now. and can imagine what he will be all covered with mosaics.

I know exactly how you feel about choosing glass! I just spent a few hours last night making a (small) quilt block out of some Vit tile for a birdbath and after I was done I hated the colors! It will work for something else someday, just not this. AND... I got an idea to do a mouse and cheese on a cutting board, I just got a lot of pretty glass last week from an ebay auction, but not any gray! And I have it in my mind that the mouse HAS to be gray!
Ooops, sorry for rambling...coffee must have kicked in, lol! Good luck on all your projects!

I'm with you on the glass. I'll buy something for a project then change my mind and buy something different. I never seem to have enough to use what I have. I either don't like the colors together or SOMETHING!!

Still am debating on the vibrant blue glass for the water, as I was trying for a more muted look for this, to let in more light,(foyer is quite dark, thus the window)well, off to get some more silicone and will ponder...any feedback, welcome! Very, very nice, Jane! Fish? Frogs? Turtles? Maybe a few more dragon flies? Have you ever checked out that clear glass with blue swirls in it (for water)? Just an idea....

Question: You're using silicone? Does that appear bubbly on the backside?

So I decided to go with muted colors..really muted..but that lets in more light!
Doone: I am using GE Marine silicone, it is clear, comes in a tube, and dries in 10 min. The trick I find is adding just enough silicone to properly coat the whole pc of glass, but not to much that it smooshes out the edges and leaves no room for grout. You can see in this pic, that I didn't add a lot of silicone to the dragonfly body and I have like a gap in the center...it's gonna be okay tho, cuz I have used a textured glass and it looks like it was part of the design! (At least that's what I'm telling myself!lol!)

I LOVE how it's coming out. Guess rainy days are GOOD for you. The bubbles look amazing. And the reeds... dragonfly, beautiful layout.
I'm hopeless at choosing anything. Guess it's good I have the tiniest stash in history. Ya'll would laugh if you saw how little I have to work with. Or then maybe ya'll would just feel sorry for me. HAHAHA No pity party, please. But Jane, I do aspire to having an art room and stash just like yours one day. I just have to win the lottery first!! HA!

I only have the top background to do now, I haven't glued the blue pond water in yet, still debating whether I should cut it up more, it's looking kinda squarish? I added more "bubbles" too, went a bit overboard!But was worried about not having enough of this blue...

And I'll make my request here, too. Can you please post a pic of your finished peacock? Pretty please with sugar and M&Ms and sprinkles and chocolate syrup on top??

Here he is, in all his glory! He pales in comparison to the real thing, there are about 3 males and 5 females who run around free range down the road from me(They hang out at the gas station!lol) and they are so incredibly beautiful, but WOW do they have a shrill loud voice!!! Always thought I wanted a live one till one day I heard one...NOT!!!!
(Can't believe I Still haven't properly cleaned this up yet!Sheesh!)

Wow! The glass I used for the sky was $25sq/ft!!! From Germany! Talked to Klinger this am and she agreed about putting the window in the door before grouting, so the grout doesn't get cracked with the manipulating the window into the door. Besides, this baby is HEAVY!!! That's why I am taking the pic of it still laying down. It's noon here and I'm off to find somebody to help me take my door off, babysit my house while I take the front door for a ride in the car!lol! And then help me put the door back on!(You can't tell by the picture but all the textures of glass are super cool!!!)
