Probabaly a coat of welbond would work, or give it a quick painting with craft paint, that's what I do.

yep a weldbond wash works, sometimes I mix a little into craft paint or kilz. If you read all the lit from weldbond, it recommends glueing to glue just like you describe.

When I was working on the mannequin, I tried the Weldbond wash. It worked better than w/o it, but I was still too impatient to wait for it to quit sliding. I finally found what worked best - Mapei's ready mix Type I. It comes in a little tub from Lowes. If you continue to use the Weldbond, pouring it in a saucer and letting it thicken helps a little too.
