Okay, I bought the Leponitt's and I just can't get the hang of using them. I read the tutorial but still feel really dumb! Any words of advice? Thanks!

Cadonna, first I make about 1" strips of my glass, then I hold the strip over a plastic container and place my Leponitts wheeled cutters about 1/2"-3/4" from the edge and squeeze at the curved part of the handle. I often cut at angles to make triangles but I have also cut squares. Nothing is accurate or exact.

Check your wheels, if one or both are lose, then tighten them. Loose wheels will cause your glass to break with ragged edges.

FYI- I just found a seller on eBay with a good price...shipping at the above-referenced site was still more than this gal. (FYI- her negs all seem to be from impatient people that griped about shipping time. Personally, as long as I GET my ebay items in a 'reasonable' timeframe, I feel no need to leave a neg.)

Been wanting to buy a pair of those - the ones I bought at Hob Lob did have loose wheels and didn't come with an allen key. None of the 500 loose allen keys I have sitting arond my house fitted! Been meaning to get a set of keys, but hey - just get the leponitts instead right? :) Thanks for the link, shipping to here was pretty cheap.

greymom - the ones from Hob Lob use a "star" shaped tool to tighten....ran into the same problem with mine, but NO allen wrenches will quite do it right. HTH!

FYI that star shaped tool is a Torques (sp?), anyone owning a GMC vehicle would need them to change break light bulbs etc...

Thanks for the info - I never looked that closely - just assumed that they needed an allen key. Can I get the torques in a diy store? I'd like to be able to still use those Hob Lob ones since they're pretty new.

hardwares or auto centers... Napa... They are a driver just like nut drivers, screw drivers, or you can get them as a socket set.

YIKES Nicethyme. I checked on the shipping and it was $10.10 just to ship the lepps. And I was considering shoping for other stuff. UGH. I am too far out in the sticks. Sigh Darn.

I might have to try to talk hubby into a trip to Boise even if it is 100 miles each way. Going to look into glass stores there.

Chris- that ebayer is in Washington state. Maybe your rate would even be cheaper than what I got. Mine was 5.95 to NEW HAMPSHIRE, and you can't get too much further than that.

Just wanted to report back that my Leponitts arrived in yesterday's mail from eBay. I'm so excited!!!!! Can't wait to use them! Didn't get a chance to last night because went to a G/O at the new Kohl's (useless trip; couldn't even find anything to chop up). Yeee haa!!!
