    and 3rd time's a charm......

WOW! It's all so planned out! So That's how ya'll do it!!! I get a vision in my head and just start gluing!! But yours makes me invision a celtic BB and that would need the planning you are doing! Glass, dishes, marbles?! What is the plan from here??? Enquiring minds need to know!!lol!

So that's how it happens, huh? A PLAN! I think it takes an organized mind and organized studio--I have neither. What has kept you from finishing this beauty seaglassic? Time to dust it off and get cracking...I mean cutting! Anxious to see it finished!

Rosie: Now what ever happened to that heart? I just can't remember if you posted a pic of it...I don't have alzhiemers but I do have sometimers....

I THINK organized but believe me...I don't DO organized. that's why it's gotten only so far..
and I had such a mess around me, then I moved, so it's all in various places of storage.

but...there's hope...my daughter and grandkids are moving this weekend and there's hope in sight!!!

I have been a sucker for so long, trying to make it better for the kids, at my expense..literally..paying for storage and it finally hit me..I'm not going to live forever and if I don't get out my own things and start to do what I've wanted to do, then my life is going to literally pass me by.

so, there came a time a few short weeks ago, that presented itself..like in the form of a standoff and I was not a nice person...
it was the straw that broke the camel's back and after my daughter packed up the kids in her car and left for a time, she came home and informed me the next day that they would be moving...
it is sooooooooooo long over due
it's not as if she is in a desparate situation or has dire needs...no, I've just been convienient for far too long.
heck, the girl is working for the state prosecuting office now and is getting her degree in a few short weeks.
but..I've been here, to watch the kids for whatever reasons..school, work, shopping, out for the evening....
and I'm sitting here...mentally rearranging the house, with my own things.
selfish?...I've been told no and I have to believe it.
I'm so used to having feelings of guilt that I don't know how to let go of them.

getting involved into the porcelain/portrait lessons has helped, probably more than anything else.
it's a viable future for me and I'm loving it.
it means I need more space and more quiet, peaceful space.

the bb will be there, waiting for me and one day, I will get to it but for now, I have all I can do, to keep ahold of my own sanity and hope they also find a good home for their hole-digging, rabbit-chasing,lake-swimming, food-begging, fleabag of a lab/dalmation mix, who can't be contained and ran through my dozens of hostas, to catch and kill a wild bunny!!!

I'm headed for 60 years old, or the funny farm, whichever happens first..but I still have arts to do and things to accomplish first.

You did the right thing, IMO. Life is just too short. My neighbor's adult kids do the very same thing to her and her husband. They babysit all day, every single day. They spend money on these grandkids like crazy-- whenever the kids ask for it. One kid gets nearly $400 a week out of them. It's just unreal. I'm new to the neighborhood, so it's difficult to interfere on their behalf, but the more she tells me and the more I see of it, I suspect it won't be long before I begin to flap my jaws about it.

Now to keep this on topic, I love your BB design. LOVE it! Can't wait to see it finished!

Good for you Seaglassic - I'm proud of you.

We only get one life and it's simply too short to live it for someone else. My son is only 15 but I'm already mentally re-arranging his room for an above-ground studio.

After all, I pay the mortgage, not him!

Slow just posted about how birds/fledglings gotta fly the nest and we have to be tough and let grown children take control of their lives!!! Ever since I got tough with DD, she has really developed self esteem, cuz mommy isn't doing it for her!!! I'm a selfish 44yr old Mom, whose 22yr old and 20yr old are now working full time, getting to work on thier own, feeding themselves...can't use the bank of MOM no more!!! Semi retired!!ha! Create Yourself an Art Room!!!!

Seaglassic, I'm sure that BB will be beautiful when completed.
I think you are right to take charge of YOUR life and LIVE it by your own choice. Throwaway any thoughts of guilt, they are not valid, enjoy your time and your place now.

Wow that will be cool when its done...its the fact that you actually started it that counts...you will get to it one your own time~~~ glad your painting is going well. I havent' forgot about our shopping trip together...and I still have your number!!!

No Guilt Seaglassic! that is your JOB- Teach her to be an independant and self sufficient adult! I say you should be proud of yourself for helping her head in the right direction!! She will thank you....and sonner than later! You can still help out, but on your timeschedule, not hers!

Want to see that ball finished!

Absolutely no guilt!! You've done your job. Now should be your time. Do what makes you happy. It is not selfish. If you don't take time for you, learn to love you, then you have no energy for others. You know what they tell you on the airplane....put your oxygen mask on first, before you try to help anyone else. Have fun.

thanks all for the words of encouragement.
today, I needed it more than other days...
DD is dragging her feet, about moving out..she has all but the bunkbeds and their clothes, moved over and she just reads and watches a movie, now and then with the kids

don't know why she's putting it off, cuz the kids are looking forward to this move.
it's to a boyfriend's place, where there's more room for them to play, lounge around and he rents bunches of movies and games for the kids.
I realize that this will make or break them and for that I'm sinfully guilty..cuz I want more than anything else, for them to split and that means she would have to find another place in the distant future but still, I need my life back

    mean of me but realistic
