Trying again.

Feeling moronish...trying to post pic of lazy susan. The messages kept getting rejected when I tried to get the pic with the message so I decided to open another post. Need your two cents on what would help this piece pop. Don't want lots of empty grout...Here I go again..

Maybe mosaic in a table top for the objects to "rest" upon, and maybe a light background to mimic a wall behind them?? Or maybe a vine going all the way around it?
It's really looking good though!!

I like the vine idea...messed with the table and a platter idea but i can't get it to work now. should've planned better. I'm gonna eat a piece of chocolate and go play with it some more...

Sorry can't comment here, at work and my work computer thinks photobucket is "inapproriate"- though webshots and a few others are ok

Hey SUN_FUN. If you like the woodgrain look along with your mosaic, I would suggest using epoxy on the whole thing to tie it together and retain the wood. I did a little tutorial on how to do it a while back, I can look it up if your interested. I like how the fruits are colored in behind your glass, and if you grout it you will lose that definition and it will look more abstract (but still recognizable.) Epoxy would still let you see that background paint. Just an idea! (PS, I like the bowling ball that I saw in your other thread :) I'm going to do one of those one of these days!)

Looks great just like it is. You could grout around just the tesserae, and finish the wood off w/what LADY suggests, varnish or oil. If it were mine, I'd continue trying BAMA's suggestion of the table and background. YOU CAN DO THIS. Colors are terrific, shapes great, and it'll be a wonderful piece whatever you decide.

I think it looks great, I love the shapes. I was looking through a mosaic book at work last night and boy I sure liked the seed bead grout, I think that would look awesome on this project,

What about a checked tablecloth behind it? blue and white or black and white?Really pretty as is!

Dang, you guys are good! I'm still working on it. Checkered tablecloth.....need more chocolate. I'm googling seed bead grout...so many ideas, so little TIME!
