I haven't grouted yet, but this is the butterfly my DS got me. The grout that came with it is white and I'm hoping that will make the color variation more prominent, but I have dozens of bottles of paint to change it if that doesn't work. The inside colors are iridescent, but it doesn't show in the picture. I tumbled the glass and the iridescence of the green really faded out.

There is a symbolism of the colors and the fact that it is a butterfy.

If it would be overkill to add glass on the clear parts to outline the wings and do the body. It sort of looks half-finished. If you think doing that would work what color do you suggest.

Tiger, I love butterflies! A dark accent would look great! And I would suggest you color your grout rather than use white.

Hey tiger, way to go, and it's nicer than a rock with six pieces of glass :) I would definitely add more glass, but I was thinking of something brighter than black, like RED! Hey, red around the wings, black body, black grout. I can go there!

I'm definitely not going to rim it in glass though I may paint it. Not sure if you can tell in the picture but the all the clear part without glass is raised. I started gluing on glass but it doesn't look good as it sticks up so far above the rest of the butterfly and it is too narrow to try to put on glass and then grout on both sides so I don't have an exposed edge of glass, even if it is tumbled.

How about black beads?
