Glassblock Basement Windows!

I am looking to replace the basement windows in my 1940's era home with glass block. I have estimates from 2 companies and one uses Pittsburgh/Corning glass blocks but installs with silicone. The other one uses Weck glass blocks but installs with mortar, and has a lifetime warranty. The cost is almost identical. I have heard that it is a safer application when the block units are installed with mortar, but I have no knowledge of the Weck glass blocks. Pittsburgh/Corning seems to have a good reputation. Both brands are assembled with silicone, but it is the installation I am concerned with. Can anyone advise? TIA
