What a unique & pretty mosaic! I'll bet it looks even better in real life. It is so hard to photograph candle lights, mirror glass & iridescent glass too.

Pineapples done!

Since the pineaplle is supposed to hold a candle I decided instead to use a light kit. I did not think the heat from the candle would be good for the grout. So there is a little nightlight bulg inside now to illuminate the piece. I hope my sister likes it.

OHMYGOODNESS! This is absolutely wonderful. BOYOHBOY! What a lucky sis. ANYONE would love that piece, and I love the idea of putting a little light in it instead of a candle. You REALLY saw the potential in this one, and it's BEAUTIFUL.

Just pondering your comment on the grout and candle. Why would the heat hurt the grout? People make grouted candle shelters. I'm just curious.

The base is all metal, and when I had a lit candle inside for a brief time it got very warm. I just did not want to take the chance the grout would dry out from so much heat, and possibly crack.

wow wow and WOW...that turned out WONDERFUL!!!! I thought it was cool before it was mosaiced and I think its FANTASTIC now that its mosaiced...the light is an awesome touch!!

The grout really made a big difference. I think the small bulb you have in it now is just perfect. Just a nice glow.
