Since my power has been back on steadily for the last few hours, I am trying to get caught up with all the posts here. Didn't sleep much last night since we had no power. At least the rain has cooled it off a bit. I finally fell asleep in my chair with the window and doorwall open and the moron next door decides to start up a generator at 3:00 am and then, as if that wasn't loud enough, was talking over the sound of the generator!!!! So much for sleep. Had to close all the windows, then it was too hot to sleep. I can't believe I'm not tired yet since I only got a couple of hours of sleep. I guess checking out this forum excites me so much I can't think of sleeping. At least for me if I do decide to mosaic, I'm in the basement so it doesn't disturb anyone.

BARB: Yucko on the power loss and the wonderful neighbor! Power outage due to storms? It's hot here in the daytime, but nice at night with the windows open and the exhaust fan running.

Yes Ronnie, we have had no rain at all for at least a month if not longer. It is so dry here and we did need the rain desperately. Yesterday around 4:00 pm we had a storm and the wind knocked over a tree or tree branch onto the power line in our grid. The good thing was at least it took the humidity away and cooled things off. The power came on at 11:50 pm so I blew out candles, reset the clocks and alarms, came on the computer and then around 12:30 it went out again...trying to go around in the dark to relight candles was certainly fun! LOL The power has been off and on since around 11:00 this morning. It seems to have finally been fixed for good around 4:00 today. Hopefully, the cooler weather will be around for a few days because I have some grouting I need to do in the garage!

Oh, Barb, that's awful! We have had a really nice summer so far. I think we had about five inches of rain spread over June, and have already had about that much this month! But the past two years were drought years for us, we lost an acre and a half of strawberries last year to drought. Nearly lost the rest to the freeze Easter weekend! But the Lord was good and gave them back to us, had maybe a 50% crop. We did lose so much of our blueberry crop that we had none to sell this year, and the blackberry crop is not much to brag about. What the freeze didn't get, the junebugs are going to ruin. We get a gallon here and there, but we should be picking several thousand pounds so by comparison it's pretty sad. My husband is about ready to mow them down and stick with other crops. With all the rain a new field of raspberries has done very well, also we sell vegetables at Farmer's Market two days a week. Which is why I am going to try to go back to bed, I have market in the morning!

Guess I'm the only one awake still, maybe I should go mosaic something!

So true Maria, at least we could avoid the mess of the flood, wish we could have avoided the power outage!
