It is lovely. I think it really captures the way dragonflies move and the look of the grass or reeds; really nice!

Thanks:) I used dark grey grout in the dragonflies and white (with a touch of reddish brown paint just to soften it a little) in the background.

Your ideas worked! The shiny dragonflies against the flatter tiles make them just rise up and away from the background! It's lovely! I know you must be pleased and proud! You've done a SUPER job, Hazel!!!

What a wonderful piece. You may not like those stones, and I know the ones you mean - got some too, but seldom use them - on the pkg, it says they can be cut w/sissors - but they surely were right for this projects. FIDDLE is right - they fade in the background and pop your dragon flies forward beautifully. And you were worried! HA! You're a natural. Whatcha gonna do next?

Hazel, what a beautiful job! You took on some big challenges on your first project and did an excellent job! I agree that the glass for the dragonflies is very effective against the matt finished tiles. And to top it off, you used two colors of grout! Pat yourself on the back for me!

I picked up a nice little end table/nightstand thingy for a couple bucks in a yard sale today. I think I may sand and stain most of it and just mosaic the top, and I have a couple votive glasses I want to do too.

I think I caught the bug!
