I've done some SG, but my soldering really stinks! :)

I've decided I want to do my next piece mosaic GOG and have read all the GOG posts and seen all the pictures that are still available on those posts. WOW--stunning work!

Anyway, back to my own GOG project. I've already cut a number of the pieces. My favorite is a curved piece that will be the base of a teapot. The grain in the glass follows the curve so perfectly. The piece is about 5" long and 3-4" inches high. A number of the posts cautioned about bubbles forming under the larger pieces. I really, really don't want to cut this piece. I'm using MAC glue. Do I need to cut the piece into two or more pieces to avoid air bubbles between the SG and the regular glass? :(

Also, my background pieces are clear, but patterned glass. Will I have problems with the glue showing through? I've read every single suggestion about trying to make sure the pieces are glued well so grout doesn't bleed underneath, so I know I have to be extra careful when gluing.

Any other GOG hints would be greatly appreciated! This is a particularly busy week for me with work and family obligations, but I'd love to get back to the project next weekend.
