Halloween mosaics

These certainly don't compare to the beauty and skill of the projects that most of you have been working on lately but here are a couple of quick mosaics I did. I got the pumpkin from a GS for a quarter. It was cut from thick wood and painted an ugly orange on the front. At first I was going to repaint it a bright orange but after finding these plates I changed my mind and mosaiced it instead.

The skulls are mosaiced on wood my DH cut out for me a couple of years ago when I was doing patio pavers. It's just an upside down paver.

Hee heeeee he!!! I love them!!! and dearly want to do some pumpkeins, but my kids still require costumes so you all know what I do for the month of Oct!

I hope you and anyone else who might have the thought to compare the different projects here, understand that we are all mosaic fiends and appreciate it all!!! LOL

I've always loved carved pumpkins. They always bring back memories of when I was a kid... then carving pumpkins with my own kids. Your guy has personality! And you won't ever have to pull the gook out of the inside or worry about him rotting! :)

D3bbi: I think you are right, these probably were seasonal dishes. I lucked out when I found the plates at a GS.

Gypsy: Too funny!

Nice: You mean you do landscaping, whip out beautiful detailed mosaics and sew costumes too? Sheesh woman...is there anything you can't do? Are you a professional chef too? LOL

Kate: My kids are older so I haven't had to worry about carving pumpkins and pulling gunk out of them for quite a few years now. I more than make up for it though with lighted pumpkins everywhere. Much easier to plug it in then light a candle!

Sun: I wish you lived closer to me because I think you would appreciate my decorating and I love making my gifts for Christmas too! For Halloween & Christmas I remove and pack away all of my every day decor stuff and replace it with holiday stuff. I actually did decorate a little earlier for Halloween this year though...the inside is done but I still need to decorate outside. Even my kids rooms are decorated!

Slow & Kelly: Home Depot used to sell those pavers but finally discontinued them this year.
