Yes, a picture would help. Are you referring to a long, narrow window next to your front door?

You could frame the stained glass window with a picture frame or brick mould and hang it by a couple of chains from a ceiling, from a wall-based plant hook, in front of a light, in front of a window, or even in a cabinet door (depending on the size). You could also use it to replace a bathroom window or window somewhere else in the house.

Ask the door installer to add it to the new entry or make it into a transom above the door.

I built my mother a large stained glass window several years ago made from bevels, french antique, with a long stem rose highlighted in the middle of clear. My mother hung it in her bedroom from two chains, just in front of a window, so the sun came through it during the day and where a can light highlighted it from above.

If the stained glass window is real and you decide to hang it, most cames including zinc will break over time and/or the solder joints holding the came will break when under weight, so be sure to frame it in wood or steel as otherwise, the chain will pull out. Also, it needs to be vertical, not horizontal, so don't use it as a skylight unless you put steel bars across it, since the glass weight hanging horizontally can be enough for the center to break free and fall on someone.

You gave me lots of great information. I can't seem to figure out how to post pictures, she said blushingly!

It is about 8 foot by 6 to 8 inches, I will take it somewhere to be framed, maybe I should say priced to be framed.
It is my neighbors business, "stained glass" so it I beautiful, and I appreciate your help. I would ask neighbors, but they would insist on doing it for free!

Maid, the best way to add photos is to upload your photos to a photo sharing site, like photobucket.com. Then, simply click on the HTML code to copy that code string to your computer's clipboard. Come back to this forum, start a message and right click in the message box and select "Paste". That will paste the photo's HTML code string into your message. You can do this as many times as you like. When you click on Preview Message, you should see all your photos embedded right into your message. If not, and you see a code string, you've copied and pasted the wrong code string, so go back and copy the HTML code string. If you want just one photo, you can use the "Image file to upload (optional): field above the message. Just click on the "Browse" button, browse your computer for the photo, and select it. You can only add one photo at a time with this GW option, which is why I never use it. Nice idea, but not very helpful, since you can only add one photo per message with this option.
