I've been inspired by you guys to start looking for those flowers, and have picked up a few pieces with flowers on them, but I'm really chicken to try to get them off of what they are on. I'm afraid I'll break the flowers - just can't see how I could get them off cleanly...

I'd love a little tutorial on how to pull/chip/get little ceramic roses off of a piece. I bought a couple of knick-knack china baskets with roses all over... but have no idea how to go about separating them... have no saw... not an electric on anyway. I really don't know how to start with it.

For me I have boughten the cheap little ceramic (I think) vases at the dollar store then took my tile nippers (not the wheeled kind) and started going at it. You kinda of start getting a nack for knowing when and where to cut the flowers off. I now have a coffee can full of beautiful flowers that someday I will use!!!

Chickee and lyndalu,really easy to do.if it's the little pots of flowers just hit the little pot lightly with a hammer ,usually they will peel away and then you can start separating the floweres..sometimes I take a screw driver and just pry on the plaster thats holding the flowers.When they break free then you can nip them down like you want.Go for it don't be chicken you can do it!!!

Annie has it - that's the way I get them off - take a screwdriver and hammer an gently tap them off, then w/the wheeled nipper, trim off any unwanted extras.
