I've used EnvirotexLite.....a similar product..........

Straight lines.......Plastic tape on the bottom......let the finish cure.....sand thru the corner till you reach the tape......remove the tape with drips attached.......

For irregular Cypress blanks I've used vaseline

My wife, daughter and I moved into anew house in 1980 and couldn’ find a table to fit our small breakfast. finally we hit up a4 1/2’ wire cable spool. we stain it and finished it using build except we gave 25 coats, sanding between each coat pregressively using smaller and smaller grit paper, finally finally no paper at all, top, side, and inner core of the core It was great. It now sits outside of our cabin in the Ozarks. Thank you, you have inspired me to refinish it again and give it to my daughter, who worked so hard helping finish the table. I’ve never seen anything so beautiful.
