Well if you can't tint the stuff from your "wall of shame" you'll just have to hurry and make something so you can tint it!!!! Kudo's to you for remembering to seal everything though!!!!

Hey, is it possible to re-grout something that is sealed???

I was thinking the sealer could be scrubbed off with a wire brush, if it's the regular grout sealer.

Isn't grout supposed to be resealed occassionally? If so, doesn't this mean the sealer wears off anyway? If I am going the right way with this line of thinking, then EVENTUALLY you will be able to paint the grout right? Or wrong?

But then who wants to wait around for EVENTUALLY!

My black grout on my BB (that is bowling ball) outside has been sealed a couple of times and when it looks faded, I run a swipe of black acrylic paint over it and it looks new again for awhile so you will have a chance to paint that grout!

Grout sealer is generally meant to keeps stains from penetrating and discoloring grout(think kitchen counter or floor stains). It doesn't waterproof.

You "should" be able to paint or regrout over it - with a minimum of problems.

I use the acrylic admix when mixing my grout and I've found it quite difficult to paint over or change the grout color by regrouting.

I did attempt to tint the grout eventhough it was sealed and the paint (mixed with water) just sat on the surface of the grout. I'd done it on a prior peice that hadn't been sealed and the paint sunk right into the grout like it should. Anyway, when I saw it not sinking into the grout pores is when I realized it'd been sealed. Also, that particular one had already been regrouted in my attempt to improve it, still hate it. lol

Only thing I can suggest is there is a grout remover I THINK on the Dremel and I think there's a manual tool for that. Try scratching it to remove the top layer and then re-grout in the color you choose.

Oh yeah. Removing grout sucks. The recipe is: A cup of will, a pinch of stubborn, and mix with a box of elbow grease.

That reminds me Kally of when I was a kid...we (all 5 of us kids) had to clean house every Saturday. We would have to take turns cleaning the bathroom, dining room and kitchen. My youngest sister was trying to clean the floor and she wasn't having much luck getting the spot up so she asked my mom what to use and mom said elbow grease. A few minutes later my sis walks back into the room and asked my mom where she keeps the elbow grease because she looked under the sink and couldn't find it! Boy did we crack up!!! LOL
