This rust one

Or this blue/teal one?

I am not sure I like the white background of the rugs with your space. Plus they seem a bit contemporary for the furniture which is much more traditional.

I think the pattern is too big for your decor. As EG3d said, too much white.

I know the answer and I'll tell you ... In exchange for the dog ;)

Seriously, if it was only a choice of those 2 then I'd probably pick the blue. But, I think they are both sort of close to the pattern on the chairs. The rugs and chairs appear to be a damask of some scale. If that were my room and I wanted to add another textile I would add curtain panels to the window.

I like the carpet you have, are you planning to put an area rug over that or is the bigger plan to take up the carpet to reveal hardwoods?

I think you need a rug with Multiple colors if you want it to tie things together and play well with everything in the room.

The rust would be my choice, it will bring out some of the color in those chairs. The teal/blue would just be blah.

Those chairs are beautiful and it really changes the look of the room without the sofa. Are they staying? Love the changes you've made! I love both the rugs but agree that you could do better for your space. I hope people will post other suggestions for you.

Would something like this appeal to you? Something with the colors from your chairs, but other colors, too?

I don't think either of them would look right in your room. The pattern is overwhelming.

I agree that the white background is too much. I would choose the rust if the background wasn't a stark white.
