I have a pink lacquered (I think it's lacquered) framed mirror. I want to change the frame's pink color to silver.

Do I need to test, prep or sand it's finish first?

Can I use a silver spray paint later? Or is there a lacquered silver paint? What can I do to get a shine to it? Does it need to be sealed?

Anything else I need to know or do?
