You sound like me - I See something cool & buy it ...... when I get home I think - how can I cut this ? The object(s) goes in my "I'll think about it pile" .... I have a bunch of piles ....

** Waiting for outdoor ideas pile
** Pieces that are cool , but I have no use for pile
** Waiting for the perfect base pile
** Stuff I can't bear to throw away pile

MY whole future consists of a bunch of piles ! LOL

I picked up 2 matching little glass vases at the thrift for 25 cents a piece monday. I already have started on them. The base of the small vases are very roundish with a sharp curve, The glass gems keep sliding from where i put them...grrr.

oh I forgot to post my find... the elongated gems at Dollar tree, 3 lbs for the BD party star projects - I think the girls will be more attracted to all the gems I have than anything else.So i got them more... then I get all the left overs LOL

Cleaned off my work table, discovered stuff I forgot I had - may never buy another plate again - boxes, and boxes in the garage, the last frontier to clean. Gotta get the wet saw out and get them cut up.

Nope, orange ones were TJ Maxx. The rest were Salvation Army thrift.

I accidentally got some mirror tiles... Am getting settled into our new temporary rental, and there's no mirror in one of the bathrooms. I bought one today, got it home and promptly broke it:( My Hubby won't believe I didn't do it deliberately, lol

AHHHh Grey...so that's your story and you're sticking to it, right? LOL How big was the mirror?

Hmmm...you just gave me an idea to get a new set of dishes...("OOPS!! No, honey, I don't know HOW I managed to drop that entire stack of dishes we got for our wedding...I was trying to rearrange the cupboards...yeah, yeah, and there was this BANANA PEEL on the floor...(why yes, dear, we DO live in a pig-pen...is this a problem???)...and and...and...so can I go buy a new set of dishes now?)

hee hee, I like the way you guys think:)- the mirror was an oval about 2' x 3' and had kind of engraved design around the edge. It also has a cardboard back that doesn't go all the way to the edge, so I have to get the pieces off that too. Now I just have to start that little end table I've had for a month...

Well, I got my ring saw last Friday (YIPPEE!!!) and DD and I went to Delphi and Hobby Lobby and she got us the Pro Morton cutting system and we got glass and I got the base for my holiday exchange gift so that means I should have been busy all week in my craft room mosaicing, right??? Unfortunately that did not work out because instead of being in my craft room, I was at the dentist and then an oral surgeon the last 3 out of 4 days where they FINALLY figured out which tooth was abcessed and I got a root canal done on it. I can finally eat, I'm not in pain anymore, so I hope I can finally get some mosaicing done!!!!
(But, on the upside I have spent a lot of my time this past week on the computer so I am up to date on the posts!)

And some other gift items and a mirror, that didn't make it all the way home in one piece, but am thinking of using it in a way that I see in a mosaicing book I have, where it is a mirror with the mirror shards as the background/fill in pcs. It's like they cut out the fish(it's a bathroom mirror) and re-layed the mirror. I am going to finish the tp tower and then get started on the gift exchange item!!(Someone will be asking themselves, "How have I lived without it!!"!!! LOL!!!

I know it's Sunday but I got this last night so it still last week right? lol It's a clear plate but the surface was textured and coated in a gold? foil ? paint? don't know
But the bottem is smooth and no footer either. Big plate entirely useful and totally bling for 4$ at auction. Couldn't wait to see if that gold was going to cut nice so I had to nip it up as soon as I got home LOL

Wow, Nice! I HAVE several of those same serving plates! They were a wedding gift 100 years ago... rarely use them. I hadn't even thought to break them for mosaic.... but I will certainly give it a thought NOW!!!

EEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWW sorry about that root canal, Barb. Have a couple horror stories myself about root canals!! Now I panic if I even get a twinge in a tooth!!
