There's a couple ways- Tile Creator is one ($70), and someone mentioned to just dump a photo into your Paint program and blow it up til it's pixilated (which I thought was ingenious!) ($FREE)

Did this with paint.net ( you can pixilate more if you need to. Paint.net is a totally free download with lots of features

If that doesn't suite your purpose another program to buy is tile creator. Most have free trial periods, I think.

rosie, if you want to try PAINT....I think it comes standard with Microsoft Windows....

click on START,
then click on ALL PROGRAMS,
and then it's in the folder named ACCESSORIES.

Crop your picture so that you have just the area that you want to use, and save it.

Then open it in Paint,
click on VIEW on the menu bar,
then choose ZOOM,
then choose CUSTOM,
then choose 800% (or whatever percentage works for you)

MM, Shrty, & Lyndalu: Thank you all for the info and especially Lyndalu for the detailed instructions. I saved them for further use. Don't know what I'll make but think I want to try to copy something special.

Rosie, my cousin has the Tile Creator. She said you select how many colors you want and the size, then scan your photo in and it prints your layout along with the list of tiles you need. So the more detail, the more your materials, and costs. I SUSPECT, but don't know for sure, that it will give you color code numbers for one specific tile company.
