Today is day 42 of Jane Hell, but who's countin'! heh heh! I have my cast off and am putting some weight on the leg, it sure hurts and swells up fast tho! My friend Henry came buy to fix my kiwi trellis and brought my rooster in!! Yippee!!! So I'm in my element again! two projects at once! Yippeee!!! DD came out in a taxi today as it's Thanksgiving in Canada, just to get her out here in the boonies where I live, it was $35!!!! I am justifying it as I haven't used any gas in my car for 42 days!! Here's my rooster...

OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH, JANIE! Your rooster looks so much like the one I did for my bro. Don't envy you on that one. I was soooooo glad to finish that project. How tall is he? Mine was I THINK about 36". It was not an easy task for two men to lift that sucker.

Jane you crack me up. Wanna do a snowman similiar to how your bunny. Will you cover it with something or glue right onto the styrofoam?

I wanna see the part where you go completely mad trying to get all those styrofoam goobers off your hands...cuz I've cut up Styro, and it ain't pretty...you can shake your hands down 20,000 times, and it will stick there forever. And if it DOES come off your hand, it immediately finds your pantleg to cling to.

It's worse than the toilet-paper on your shoe...

Ya, that styrofoam is everywhere!!hahaha!!! Rooster is 3ft tall. Gonna pick out glass today, and finish carving Mousy. His body is about a 6" styrofoam ball and it's that compacted bits of foam, ugh! Mexico projects, hmmm, won't know till I see it, but I'm gonna be on a Mission to get some tile and go back to that nice blown glass store! Maybe get one of those Yummy light fixtures!!! Def wanna get some more "Lady" tiles! I've been on a "dry" streak lately and Now I'm back in form as I have about 5 or 6 projects in mind!!! Yippeee!!!
I'll be glueing straight to the foam on Mousy.

Mary is sooo right about that aweful styrofoam!!! YUK!!! So I'm stopping here and gonna mosaic as is cuz I don't feel like making more mess(a styrofoam trail has followed me from the dining room, down the hall, and into the computer room!!!)He is gonna be the glass under him and is outlined where I want to use thick grout to show off his rotundness(is that a word?!)Yup, black grout! (Is there any other kind?!)

Dh is saved the misery by my haulin' out the ol' vacuum!
I'm using irridecent red and black glass, and a tan and a green blue..so far....cuz chickens/roosters have such shiney plumage eh?! A nice bright orange for his feet and beak, I want him to be sorta blingy, he'll really be struttin' his stuff! lol!

Oh Jane!! Black irridecent is my FAV. glass. I always stock up when Hobby Lobby has a sale.

Weeellll, He is one fat mouse! Morbidly obese!! He is def not what I envisioned but hey, I'll get him outta the way and start the rooster! I think I'll snip a bunch of the glass for the rooster so I can switch back and forth on the colors I'm using, cuz it's a big project and usually I do one color at a time but I think I'll be flitting all over the place with this one. He(rooster) is very detailed and so lots of curves to deal with, which will be a bit frustrating I'm sure. I'm finding that mosaicing something big is like chinese cooking, lots of chopping but cookin' is fast!!hahaha! It's all that chopping....yaaawwwnnn.....

Well if you don't beat all. GEESH, you are F.A.S.T. I don't believe I've EVER seen grey glass. Nice. Anxious to see this finished. Still don't envy you on the rooster. It's the same size as mine was, I do believe. VERY heavy.
