WOW! It's wonderful! And you know... I've kind of felt that we need to fill in every space with tiles, etc. HOWEVER... the spaces that you left are PERFECT and give it depth!

(I'm so envious of those garden stones, too! Florida doesn't "grow" stones like that and at the moment I'm too cheap to buy them. BUT... I'll be hunting when we go on vacations from now on! Can just hear it from DH... "Hmmmm I can't imagine why our gas mileage has gone down on the way home! hehe :)

I love it! Sirius, that is SO nice! I always have tiny pieces too. That's why my fingers get so raw. You did a really great job on that. I love the real rocks in it. Did you leave them ungrouted?

This turned out gorgeous! I love that yo used rocks, and left some areas open. It makes it look more "real". Great idea!

Thanks for all the great comments. It actually looks better in the photograph. I think with the grout and the dark green leaves there isn't enough contrast. I don't know what I'm doing with it. I tend to make things, not knowing their purpose. The little rocks I left alone, I didn't grout them. I love my rocks around the tree, but they aren't natural to my area either. My husband bought 4 tons of the big flat round rocks and flagstone for the yard. That is why in my pictures you might see piles laying around. I have to live with stacks of rock for another year or so.

No, it has to be inside since It was done on a piece of birch plywood. Might give it as a gift to a flower gardener.
