Big GASP Lyndalu...........oh my gosh......I love those.....I bet the birds are so happy!!!! Do you clean them with anything special?

Bama - You might look at Gecko glass for your lizard. Don't know where it is available on line since I get mine from a local small glass shop. There is a wonderful lime-y green that I think would be pretty close to what you want. Gecko glass has swirled shades of the main color, and has spots which are slightly raised, just like a gecko's skin. Don't know if the spots would be as showy in 1/2" squares, but you might want to take a look at it.

Thanks, gypsy. Yeah, the birds seem happy. They should - I always have seed and suet out for them, too. I love to watch them, and so do my kitties (safely, from the window). I clean the birdbaths with diluted Dawn dishwashing soap and a big brush. They really are a PITA to keep clean.

WOW, annie - "some" of yours? you have more? They are all absolutely beautiful, and I just love your little extra touches - the birds, balls, etc. Your work is always fantastic. How long have you been mosaic-ing?

Annie...I haven't figured out how to put the pictures NEXT to each other...but it's something I want to do, too. I'm trying to learn the HTML code so I can figure it out. I took out the "center" commands, but it just put them on the left margin, not next to each other. When I figure that out, I'll let you know. Or maybe someone else knows how to do it, and will share with us.

I also love mosaic birdbaths. I only have a few and I loved looking at all your pictures girls.Bama your idea sounds wonderful. I just hose mine out to clean and if they get grungy I fill them with wter and put a tiny bit of bleach in them, let it soak and then rinse. The bleach likely disinfects them also , but it sure cleans them easily.

I need some help...mine is also just concrete, but it's got these FLOWERS all over the edge of it. All concrete. Can I deal with those effectively, or does someone have a better idea?
I'm thinking they aren't really very 'user friendly' for mosaic, and will have to ultimately be painted instead. Got any pix?

BAMA!! I'm wanting to do the birdbath my DD gave me for Mom's Day, in lime green and orange!! How's that for the Vulcan Mind Meld?!!hee hee!!! Hmmm, can I get DH to haul that puppy in and set it up in the living room??? That's Really pushin' it!!! But being a psych nurse, he is aware of my severe depression caused by mosaic withdrawl...add a good dose of cabin fever to that and it Ain't Pretty!!!

I'm having to work on mine in the garage. Otherwise it would mean hauling it up 6 stairs to the porch, then dragging it through the house then going up the next stairway to my studio..thats about 16 more stairs!
So I'm cutting my squares in my studio now. When I think I have enough, I'll haul everything to the garage to "operate."

The top is just plain. I bought the top first, thinking I would use it on top of my mosaic chimney tile, but the round shape just didn't look right on that square base.
So, lucky me, I had an excuse to buy a base to go with the top! Lowes sales bases and tops seperate. Here they are 12.97 each.

bama...that's the same base as my maroon one. I have to say it was kind of a PITA, staying within the "sections". I don't think I would EVER use that base again, unless I "smoothed out" the sections.

CJ - your bowl is the same as mine. It wasn't exactly easy, either - the sides of the bowl were a challenge, and required some fairly small pieces. Close up of bowl:
