Makes me wish we had stairs.

Man I wish I had stairs too ,actually I do up to my workroom .Do I dare?

I told my DH when we built this house (single-story ranch) that I had a dream that we had stairs in the kitchen that went nowhere. He never did install them (?)(shrug).
Anyone got their dream book out? What does dreaming about stairs mean?

Me, too! Only stairs we have are the ones on the front and back porches, and from the garage into the house. All boring cement, but short only 2-4 steps. Been threatening to mosaic something on the risers out front, but no design idea for it yet. Thanx for the inspiration!

I've been looking at my stairs for the longest time. I have a tri-level. The ones to the bedrooms are in direct line with the Living room. I'm planning on doing something with them this winter! great ideas.

the ones to the family room are another story. a Rug, monry,.time and a 55 gallon fish tank stand in my way down there LOL

WOW!!! Did you see the drawer stairs?!!! I think I love ALL those stairs!!! The carpeting with the flowers..wow!!!

I have 2 sets of stairs....my house is weird.....but I had them carpeted.......I love the mosaic stairs especially!

I'm so glad you discovered that thread and that you're enjoying it. The mosaics there are absolutely breathtaking. I believe that very long outdoor mosaic staircase is in San Francisco.

I hope that some of you will decorate your outdoor cement steps because I'm wondering what to do with mine and when I get ready I'm going to ask you wizards of mosaic and I hope you can show me your pictures. :-)

well, I've been pondering mine too. We have a split level, and I would like to mosaic the short run of steps from the foyer to the great room (lol! just all open - dining, LR and kitchen)

Interesting that just last night I pondered the flex or down pressure exerted on the risers when you travel the stairs and worried that it would need to move.

Either way, I will try to do this project - if I do it, as an indirect so I can build them on my table and install them all at once

NT there is a little gap between my risers and the top part of the step.That should take the pressure Would you do them on backerboard? I was thinking if I ever want to move it may or may not be a "selling point" ( sorry watching too much HGTV)

This is an outstanding post...!!!
Although I have toooooo many stairs...
I have a wooden set leading upstairs to the bedrooms from the entry way... and I have carpeted one leading down to the basement...
Although I love all the pictures... I can't see me doing it..
But I will move to a flat ranch house in my old age...
and I will keep enjoying remembering seeing A L L the wonderful pictures....
It is like in GONE WITH THE WIND>>> They seem so romantic...and like the bride walking down the curved staircase...
But gee, this ole gal is tired of stairs...
I just wanta L O O K at these pretty Pictures..
It's hard to decide which one is the best.... cause they each one have a totally different look !!!!
