*** sigh** all the time.
I usually have 3-4 going at a time. I get to a point where something is not working the way I want and put it down...or it's just too big for my time ( my wall). Then when I have too many started and not finished, I get mad at myself and MAKE myself finish some. This forum Doesn't Help ... To many good Ideas!!!

I don't think I'm going to start anything new before Christmas...maybe...unless..

I generally have a couple of different projects going at one time - usually a mix of stained glass and mosaic. I've had more than two going at a time and quickly learned that my brain spirals out of control trying to juggle too many :-)

Most of the time I have at least five project ideas percolating in the wings, waiting for me to finish the ones I'm on. I think this borders on obsession, but I prefer to call it "passion".

I can only have one going at a time. I get too anxious If I have too many things staring at me to get completed. I try to work at least 1 hour a day on weekdays, and on weekends maybe 5 hours a day.

I try to work on one thing at a time. When I'm really into a project, it's easy for me to work on it 4 or more hours a day until it's done. However, on this latest mirror, I was so overwhelmed with trying to be abstract, (so far out of my comfort zone), that I put it away. It was giving me a headache!
This is when I did my birdbath. All the cheering I got from yall (and some pushing from NT), I decided I wasn't gonna let that mirror "whoop" me. It's just a freakin' mirror, so what if I do a crappy job on it? At least I'll know I tried!
If we stay within our comfort zone, there is no chance for artistic growth.

I also usually have at least two projects going at once. Right now I have 4 going. I flip back to each one. Sometimes I don't have time to work on one part (maybe I need to solder or cut glass ect) so I will work on the other ones. I can't just have one project going because it just doesn't work in my brain that way!!!! I used to feel bad if I started another project but not any more cause I know I am not the only one that does it and I always end up finishing each project.

I like to PLAN the big things and just whip off the small things.

But that's in a perfect world where I don't come here and get inspired once an hour . . . .

So I start new things in my head all the time.

I'm thinking of multiple projects as I do one. I often have more than one project going. Might have to sit one aside for glue to dry, or need to cut more glass and will start on something that is ready to go. Or I might prep the next project while one is waiting to dry, etc. I'm thinking I might really be Attention Deficit (can you get that later in life?) because I like to move from one thing to the next. I'm happiest if I have more than one thing going on. And even with that I can't do all that I want to. Not enough time! And I'd have more time if I didn't check this forum 2-3 times a day but it's a tonic that keeps me inspired. As Martha says, It's a good thing.

I like to do several at once. Such as mosaics I like to get a bunch to the point that they are ready to grout then save them and do a whole bunch at once.

Always have multiples going, in various stages of completion. I don't like to just sit watching the proverbial paint dry, so that leads to several projects going, with several more in the collection stage and (seems like) THOUSANDS in the thinking it thru stage....LOL!! Maybe we're all mosaic-inspired ADHD. Saw a t-shirt once that SO describes me these days. It said "They say I have ADHD, but they just don't understand. Oh, look, a chicken!" Yep, most days I see chickens everywhere.

To make matters worse, I'm in outside sales and in the car all day...cover 10 cities and towns of varying sizes. The route I drive is pretty much the same month after month, so I "have to" stop at the various TS's. Well, if the mosaic muse didn't want me to stop at them, the stores I call on wouldn't be located so close TO them. Right?!?!?

I was trying to ignore this thread. I was so embarrassed. I didn't want to admit it, but My name is Tree and I am a mosaic addict. I have 6-8 projects always in the various stages. I find something to experiment with and do that until the next experimentation idea comes along. (usually inspired by this forum.) I spend at least an hour a day checking up on the new ideas on this forum.

I stopped getting my nails done because it was a waste when I had grout under them all the time. I quit coloring my hair so I could use the money to buy tesserae. I have gone all day without changing out of my pajamas. Most of my clothes have silicone on them.
My kids have learned to make their own peanut butter cracker snacks because mommie is too busy gluing tesserae to substrate. I have spent as much as $300 in one day on mosaic stuff. When a toy breaks, I wonder if I can use it in some way in my artwork. I have often been afflicted with "grout mouth."

And now, I think DH is catching it. He now brings me things he thinks I might like to use. He is slowing learning not to throw anything away unless he asks me if I can use it first. My son is also diseased, he has done his own mosaic projects and he also brings me stuff to see if I can use. And poor little DD, she is completely enamored with "colors" or glass and glass globs. My kids know what the word "tesserae" means.

Yes, I am a mosaic addict and boy am I enjoying it!! I feel better getting that off my chest. Now I am off to experiment with crash glass...

I usually work on one project at a time except for the grouting and then I spend a couple of days grouting them all. I also spend way too much time on this forum which is a blessing and a curse. I get a lot of ideas but sometimes all these big wonderful projects that some of you seem to whip out at warp speed discourages me because all my stuff seems so small and simple in comparison and not even worth posting. Sometimes I can't sleep at night because I keep thinking about a project I'm either working on, or want to work on but I also have times where I stare at something and just can't figure out how to start it.
