OK, so DH loves his deck (can't fault him there, it is wonderful)....you aren't mosaicing the deck! All you are doing is adding a lovely accent piece. Your beautiful flower will only serve to draw attention **to** his wonderful deck!

that's just like a Pacific Northwest trumpet vine...and they do grow big around here...lol not exactly that big, but still impressive.

google for littleandlewis's website...they have them growing around their yard on Bainbridge Island...

also, on their sculpture pictures, is one that looks like your speaker...I think it's more or less, the back of a mushroom.

the trumpet vines are a pretty rustic orange color or a nice yellow...I love them..

That is one magnifico deck!!! But it could be tweaked, by decking it out with a flower! It would draw your eye to the deck!!!ha! Ohhhh, what surprises you could weld/mosaic!!!

Well, so, THERE YOU HAVE IT! When you finish that wonderful, loverly, magnificent project, he's gonna be so overwhelmed w/acceptance he won't know which end is UP. Nice, that will be awesome!!! Just hang it on the deck when your done and see how long it takes him to notice then bat your eyes and say "oh that thing..its been up there for ages don't you remember!!!"" Probably wont work but its worth a shot!!!!!! You know kinda like all that new stuff we bring into the house without letting them know we bought it!!!

I also see it as a giant Morning Glory. Very cool project. I remember when you first got it. I drooled over it then. I can't imagine your DH not wanting this wonderful flower on his deck. It REALLY is a wonderful deck!! WOW So HUGE!! He did a great job.
