Honestly I use both and find them to be comprable to each other in price. I can usually get a sheet of 225 tiles for 5.00 or less. There are more expensive tiles but I dont usually buy them unless its for something special.

I like both because with glass I can have whatever shape or size I want where as with the small square tiles I have uniform color and can leave them square if I dont want to nip them up. I do find if you buy the stained glass tiles pre cut you end up paying more than if you cut them yourself. Of course all of this is just my opinion, Im sure the other gals will have varied but valid opinions to base your choice.

I like the look of nice evenly cut tiles , but just can't see myself spending more money .

I use both, and then some...............bought some stained glass from a local shop that is trying to go out of business and she has some really unique glass......I just can't seem to stick to one type of material in my projects......I like a lot going on........only when I do a specific stained glass piece, am able to stick with glass, otherwise, nothing is safe.

I started out with tiles and broken plates and went off onto stained glass. I can control the glass better and it doesn't have the wide variety of thickness that tile, plates, and stone have.

It's all personal preference, I'm sure.

I like to mix it up with tiles and stained glass, china ,tonight I was using beads. If you go all tiles or all glass it is easier than mixing it up.Trying to always keep mixed mediums on the level can be challenging sometimes. Lots of grinding beveling or building up. Also choosing the right pieces in the right thickness in the right colors can be so much easier in all glass or all tiles. I am anxious to try the little 3/8 tiles.

I actually find myself liking all the above and really like plates nipped up! Depends on the project. I do plan on trying to cut my tile more instead of nipping it. I usually don't even know what I'll be using till I start a project. I envy everybody who has it all cut, nipped, sorted, ready to go! Like TMG, I have a LOT of glass! And I am a big fan of the glass globs!

i like glass and i've never tried actual ceramic tiles - only chopped up plates and i didn't enjoy it at all. i like a lot of the things about glass people have already listed.. PLUS.. it's skinny so it doesn't take up a lot of room in my very, very small workspace. :)

Everything I can find interesting. I mix it ALL up - like chunky.

Started out with tile and china,am trying to use glass but I find it harder.Glass does have many more colors to chose from tho.
