I used to support myself doing craft showes. Not mosaics because I did not do them then but other stuff. Weaving beadwork crochet just stuff. And lots of it. I did find diversity was good because every one did not like one thing but something else and if I had both I stood a better chance of selling to more people.

It is a lot of work. I did this years before computer so had more time on my hands on cold winter days and nights. I am not much of a TV watcher.

I bought some things off a person on Etsy or is it Esty?? Was stained glass stuff and so fun. Can not remember her sellers name. Your work is beautiful I think you stand a good chance to do well doing the show circut.

There are also web rings on the internet you can hook into. You build yourself a webpage,easy to do, and join the web ring and your page gets linked up with others and a shopper can go from artist to artist shopping. I had a big web page set up a long time ago but never really got much put on it back then and then took it down for lack of interest on my part.

Susan, we just started doing craft shows. We did our first one this weekend. I didn't see any mosaic stuff. Nope i didn't take mine. I did take pictures of my table tops and stepping stones. Will take orders for those. Doing my glass chimes right now and my metal work. We just got in to a christmas show. I also have a web page that we sell at and ebay and esty. Girl you do an awesome job at what you do. If you need to i will email you a few pages that you can see the craft shows in your area.

WI dept of tourism puts out an "Arts & Crafts Directory" the first of every year with a list of all the shows for the year and all the details how to get it. Maybe yours does the same. Google "arts & craffts in -your city-" and see what comes up .

Gretch, I looked at your web page last night! I really like your windchimes. I've made one before, but it was such a pain to drill all the holes. Do you have a suggestion for making it easier/faster?

Shades.. thanks for your input. I had planned on doing other things besides mosaics too. I know when I go to a craft show if a booth is all one subject (sewing etc.) I just glance and keep on walking! I think diversity is key to create more interest.

I quit my job 4mos ago and want to create some inventory also, I have some ideas percolating, but a possible move may change everything! Oh, I'm sooo looking forward to hangin' with ya in Mexico!!! Yipeee!!! I'm planning to do a booth at a big garden show, where there will be lots of different booths set up, it won't be till the end of March/08.

one issue mentioned by Silvamae was that hauling out heavy mosaics for shows can be alot of work.

My best friend is into the craft show circuit, we did one last week. It was HUGE!
She does really nice stained glass, but just made table. It seems the crowd can be very fickle. People seem to be pretty tight with their money this year. ( except for crafters buying supplies!) She finds the shows via the craftlister site too.I think that I will complete all my projects this winter, and share a spot in the spring.
I agree with all above, your stuff is beautiful. I'd buy it!! I saw that school in Mexico a few years ago and always wanted to go. Make sure you send some pictures when you do go so I can live vicariously through you!!
