Patience is the key ! I've been stalking Craig's list to find some glass ,too. No Luck yet . I even thought of putting a "want ad" in there - just to see.

update.........
I met up with the man, who has been teaching stained glass for the past 8 years, at the same store, where I got the first 5 pound grab bag of scrap pieces.

the ad read $1 and I thought it meant that but in actuality, his wife meant it to be $1 per pound...still very reasonable.

so, after having a tour of his studio, which is 90% packed up, for them to move to Tuscon in about a week, I was able to see the bins he had of the scraps.

very nice colors and pieces...they were good sizes and none too big...all suitable for mosaic pieces or even scraps for stained glass projects, which I don't do.
he didn't know how many pounds there were, cuz he didn't know if anyone wanted just a little bit or all of it, so he got a bathroom scale and set the first bin on it...
it was more than 60 pounds and the second one was just close to the same..
they were divided up into main color catagories..
blues, greens, misc and clear, mixed with the opaque white.

I'm thinking while he's weighing....man, there's no way I can get all of this..it's adding up to over $120....I just don't have it to spare...
he stands up and says that he's gotten good deals on glass in the past and wants to be able to help someone get started in working with stained glass, in any capacity...and it's suitable for mosaics.

then, he says that the lowest he dare go is $50....
done deal.........you betcha!
so, he huffed and puffed, while he carried each bin to the trunk of my car...carefully set them in there and we continued talking.
he showed me the cabinet he has the main large pieces in...
holy cow!!...he said there's about fourteen hundred dollars of inventory in there!
absolutely stunning glass of all colors in the slots...some were 4' tall....
wow, it was a small shop of it's own...
there was one sheet I liked, in a subtle sherbet sortof color..he said he never liked it and just gave it to me...
that was a freebie...

I'm totally thrilled with it all and he said that as they pack, if anything should crack or break or he decides to just not take it..he's got my cell# already programmed into his cell #...and he gave me a few quick tips on how to get a pattern from the paper to the glass, without losing the pattern of the glass underneath..things I wouldn't have even had a clue to ask about.
his daughter will be setting up a website, after they get all moved.
anyway, that's the latest update....

I'm getting back into stained glass now that I'm retired, I have a few things I've had on the back burner for a long time now. Wishing you gorgeous stuff from your treasure.

and it just keeps getting better...

the first 5 pounds at the glass shop
then, Craig's list, which I had weighed today, at the recycle center....it was 184 pounds but gotta deduct the trolly it was on....
and today, when I got back from my art class, the ebay purchase arrived...50 more pounds.

I'm getting out the old front door, from the carport, with the carvings in it, for the front room and have it as a long work table.
I need table legs, from HD, to be attached, so I can have it at a very comfortable height to sit at...

there's the glass door to set on top of it and after that..it's all mine to hunker down for the winter and begin to expand in my self expression and contentment!!!

I had the best art class today, too..
learned some wonderful techniques in technical drawing and how to apply it to abstract and detail in paintings. using a drafter's pen.

it's amazing how this late in life, it's finally all so worth it...
I remember days, that just overlapped each other and I thought there would never come a time for me to feel free.

oh, and I got my first cut finger already...
with a knife, in the excitement of opening one of the boxes...lol that counts, doesn't it?

Wow Becky, That is just way to awesome!! Now you can start cranking out them projects!!!! You got such a find. I've only looked on Craigs list once and found nothing!!! Look at you all this glass in one week!!!!! Go girl go.......
